To market… to market…

As today’s post title suggests. . . I’m off to the market,

but not the set up the marquee and hang out the bunting kind of market.

Market Night

On Monday night I’m holding a ‘Market Night’ on my Facebook page at 7 pm.

Given the cost of international postage, I’m assuming that my Market Night will only interest Australian crafty shoppers, but I thought I’d share with you anyway a little sneak peek of what’s on offer.

This Market Night is all about craft storage with 12 caddies available.

They are all shabby, chippy and distressed. . . just they way we love them!

. . . with gorgeous French graphics

. . . and the most beautiful vintage botanical theme prints.

There’s also a more neutral caddy. . .

. . . and a sweet little retro inspired storage rack too.

In all there are 12 different crafting caddies up for grabs, so pop on over to my Facebook page to see the entire collection.

    Could I ask a question? I am interesting buying even though I am in the USA, what do your prices run and how hgh does shipping run? Thanks, I would appreciate even all park figures. . . . Ou can email the info if you have a chance.

  5. I love your blog and I love, love, love, your caddies. I’m in the USA too. Darn, I know international shipping has to be over the roof. I also, really love those trim boards. I saw one of those on pinterest. It was actually from a book. I made some out of card board. Yours are so pretty. TFS.

To market. . . to market. . .

There were a few anxious moments during the pre-dawn of market day when a thunder storm blew in at 4:20 am, but a quick check of the radar revealed an all clear following the storm. Still… I was apprehensive while setting up at 6:30 am.

As you can see. . . we backed onto the marina, so with this lovely view as our backdrop I left the sides of the marquee off.

I filled my tables with a collection of pretty shabby, French and coastal chic homewares and gifts.

To the left of the tables (sorry. . . no photo) I had my furniture pieces.

Overall, it was a busy and successful day. . . but as the market came to a close at 1 pm storm clouds were moving in quickly.

He was all of about 6 or 7 years old. . . his parents had a stall just down from me and he spent the entire morning quietly manning his fishing rod.

A few minutes after I took this photo, we were packing up our marquee when big drops of rain began to fall and thunder and lightening had everyone scurrying to get packed up and out of there.

Sooooo. . . with the first market day of the season done and dusted it’s time to move on to preparation for the Christmas markets.

  4. Missed you this time as had an impromptu visit to daughter in Wagga with my son and when he decides he’s going on a trip, he goes! Love the stall and will try to catch up with you at the Christmas markets if I can rise with the sparrows and there’s nothing else clashes with the date :).

To market, to market….

And that’s exactly what we did last Sunday. It was take 2 at the Artist Market in Port Macquarie and I am pleased to say it was a much better market day than the last time we went. LOL

Don’t you just love bunting? I have it all the way around my marque.

I think my success this time was due in part to the new beachy wares on offer. There was a funky beach chick section…


…lots of beach inspired signs, blackboards, hanging art, paintings and framed watercolours…

Aimee had her fingers crossed that this painting wouldn’t sell as she wanted it for our beachy family room, but it went pretty quickly. I’ll have to paint another similar one for our house!


I also had a table of shabby and romantic cottage pretties that sold very well too. I even sold cupcakes…. amazing eh! I didn’t expect to after shocking them last time, but they came back for them.


Aimee had her own basket of goodies on offer ~ she had made packets of reindeer food to sell and was overjoyed every time she made a sale. She has already re-stocked in readiness for the Christmas market next week.

The market was buzzing with activity and colour. We had a good laugh at the balloon mans antics.


Mid-morning the drumming circle began…. what a great idea.

Anyone could join in. It was a mix of young and old, with participants forever changing. The beat was hipnotic and a real crowd pleaser.

I got to catch up with some new market friends and of course I snuck out for a little shopping too [giggle].

Sooooo, a great day was had and now I have a better feel for what sells here. Next Thursday we have our twilight Christmas market which I desperately need to be making stock for BUT… er… um… I’m working on another major project. I’ll tell you about that one next post.

So no surprises I guess, that I will be working over the weekend to restock for the Christmas market.

  9. Sounds like you are fitting into the Port Mac scene pretty quickly. I guess a lot of the tourists are after ‘beachy’ souveniers to take home. Great variety of creations for your market.

  10. Your funky beach chicks are fab, and you should definitely do yourself another seagull painting, Aimee has great taste, it’s fab! Now I thought you were going to entertain us with more faux cupcake stories, seems they’re getting used to you now!
