Hello creative friends,
May in the Handmade Club is fresh and summery with my new kit, A Cottage Life.
Following on from my February kit, Granny’s Pantry, this month’s theme is inspired by life on my granny’s farm and is a fusion of granny chic meets shabby farmhouse.
A Cottage Life embraces a home and family theme…. the two loves of my granny’s life.
She may have lived a simple life, but my granny’s home was always full of love and laughter… and while mending and darning may have been a necessity, anything could be made beautiful with patchwork, hand embroidery and a little love sewn in.
What’s in the May Kit
The kit elements have a real homespun cottage feel with lots of patchwork and embroidered items in a colour palette of pink, yellow and avocado.
My granny was a dairy maid her entire life, so as a nod to her farm, I’ve also included a sweet menagerie of whimsical hand painted watercolour farm animals and a few vintage additions too.
Once again, there’s two themes in one that work so well together, or you can divide them up for two unique themes.
The kit contains:
– 24 coordinating papers that are provided in 3 sizes (A4, letter and 5″ x7″ journal)
– 85 large scale png graphics in a zip file
– Large scale patchwork alphabet – perfect for banners, cards and journals.
– Everything in the kit is provided in zip files as well as ready to print PDF’s… including a two part 35 page fussy cut file.
There are over a dozen tags, 6 cottage altered art cards using the beautiful art of Helen Jackson, numerous patched panels with sweet quotes, journal pockets and cards, flowers, ribbons and buttons, honey themed art and the sweetest shabby ducks, hens and piglets…..
In this kit I have provided quite a few blank options on journal cards, patchworked panels and hoop art, so that you may insert words/quotes of your own choosing.
The alphabet graphics are large scale, so you may resize then to suit your projects without loosing any detail.
They can be used on banners, monograms and handmade cards… or enjoy this sampler I created for you.
If you prefer a more neutral colour palette, you can isolate and use the vintage honey bee papers and graphics collection for a completely different look.
I hope this homespun sweetness speaks to your heart of a simple cottage life in the country, as it does mine ♥
The May kit, A Cottage Life, is a limited edition kit that is available from 15th May (Australian Eastern Standard Time) to 13th June (AEST).

Hello Kerryanne, I’ve loved all the kits so far since I joined recently, but this one is my absolute favorite. You have just outdone yourself !! I love every single detail. It’s so sweet and charming. I can almost hear the chickens cackling, the ducks honking, the piggies grunting, those bees buzzing. It really brings back memories of my childhood. Your artwork is just beautiful. Thank you for such an unmatched value anywhere out there. Iris Shubert
