Hello creative friends,
I love when you can take an unfortunately situation and turn it into a positive…. which is exactly what happened to me last week when our internet service unexpectedly went down… don’t you just hate that!!
I wasn’t getting anywhere with the support line, so rather than getting frustrated, I decided that this situation presented the perfect opportunity to have a much needed screen break for a couple of days.
It turned out to be exactly what I needed…. just me and the craft room buddy, ensconced in our ‘happy place’ playing with the new May kit, A Cottage Life.
Bonus Projects for ‘A Cottage Life’
I really had a lot of fun with this collection and I’m pleased to be able to share 4 bonus projects with you.
This extra ‘Print & Make’ printable is now available in my Etsy store.
Mini Patchwork Bag
How stinkin’ cute is that little patchwork gift bag!!
It is a one page printable and the bag outline is already printed on the patchwork paper. I also provided a pink watercolour paper to print on the back, so your bag has a pink lining.
It’s a ‘print & make’ project… so simply print, cut out on outline, score the dotted lines and fold into the bag shape. A little glue on the tabs will hold it all together for you.
Super easy and super cute ♥
Note Pad Holder
This is possibly one of my all time favourite go-to projects… the note pad holder.
It’s essentially a cover that holds a notepad that slips into the belly bands. It can be changed as often as you like.
There’s a full step-by-step tutorial for making this quick and easy project on this post HERE.
The bonus note pad holder PDF printable contains all of the pages you’ll need to make this project. I printed two of the pink check lining papers, so there was enough paper to use for the inside cover as well as to cover the insert for the not pad. The handy pocket is included in the printable and you can decide what you’d like to pop inside the pocket.
Mini Patchwork Cubes
I thought these cubes would be sweet to add to a shabby vignette.
The bonus mini cube PDF printable contains the cube template and instructions on how to assemble, plus all of the little squares are included on a second page.
It’s another quick and easy ‘print & make’ project…. kids or grandkids could even help with this one.
A Neutral Summer Banner
I try to make my monthly club kits as versatile as possible.
This month the colour palette is pink, yellow and avocado, but I also popped in a few neutrals that you can mix and match with the colours.
For this fresh and summery banner project I kept the colour palette neutral, with a few pops of lemon and avocado green.

To help you make a start on a summer banner, I created 5 pages for the individual banner elements, so there is one page of fussy cuts per banner shape. Of course, you don’t have to make yours exactly the same way I made mine, so please feel free to add in any of the elements from the kit.
For me, the banner is all about layering and textures.
I printed the PDF pages on photo paper card to make the banner durable. Next I adhered all of the fussy cut elements to the main pennant shapes, making sure that I used foam tape to layer and lift some of the elements and then added in some extras like buttons and lace.
If you have a sewing machine you can also sew around the edges of some of the elements and the pennants.
Once I finished decorating each pennant, I used my Croc-A-Dile to punch holes in the top of the banner pennants and threaded them onto a length of sari silk ready for hanging.
That’s it.. super easy to make and so sweet to hang up in your outdoor area for summer entertaining.
Tip: You could even use the kit to make summer placemats to match and laminate them so they are waterproof.
I hope my bonus projects have given you a little kickstart for creating with the A Cottage Life digital kit.
