Welcome to Shabbilicious Sunday.
Each week in this series I share with you a visit to a home of one of our ‘shabbilicious’ friends…. I hope you are enjoying this series as much as I am.
I believe a mantel provides a lovely focus point in a room and is ideal for setting the theme for your decorating. Today I’m sharing a few of my favourite Christmas mantels… each of them beautiful and full of inspiration.
Please click the links below to visit and pin from these lovely blogs.
Janet’s blog, Shabbyfufu, has many posts on mantel decorating. All of them are lovely, but I picked this one from her master bedroom with a mantel loaded up with white garlands and painted pink pinecones.
At the Happy Happy Nester, Janine used this adorable DIY paper leaf garland and string lights on her mantel. She has a tutorial for how to make it too!
Junk Chic Cottage is one of our ‘shabbilicious’ favourites, so you might remember Kris’ gorgeous mantel filled with vintage angels lit with string lights.
Penny’s home at Penny’s Treasures is always whimsical… and never more so than at Christmas. Last year Penny had this amazing pink and white shabby mantel, complete with cascading lights, layers of lace and pink roses.
We are spoilt for beautiful mantel options at Chateau Chic.
For this one, Mary Alice made the mercury stand and cloche, filled with vintage baubles, the centerpiece of the vintage mantel. Next she added in a pink and silver colour theme and lots of sparkly white lights.
I love this winter woodland inspired mantel from At The Picket Fence.
Not only is this mantel so pretty with its layering, varying heights and textures (all good things to include for great mantel composition), but the family story included in this post is beautiful… well worth a read!
Another gorgeous snowy themed mantle is this sweet winter village from Jennifer at Town and Country Living. I love the addition of the colourful wool felt pom-pom garland too.
I spied this gorgeous farmhouse Christmas mantel at Worthing Court this week.
Suzy’s layering and symmetry really appealed to me… and what about those lanterns!
Barb always has a fun farmhouse Christmas style at The Everyday Home. How fabulous is this mantel with its plaid, houndstooth and frosted berries theme. It looks completely different at night when it is lit up, so make sure you pop over for a look.
And finally, here’s another fabulous mantel from Junk Chic Cottage. Although we know Kris for her dreamy white decor, back in 2014 she surprised us with a lovely Nordic farmhouse Christmas in red and white. Kris used old frames she had from around the house and added fresh greens and checked ribbon to bring in a winter garden feel.
I hope these gorgeous homes have filled you with plenty of inspiration for decorating your Christmas mantel.
I invite you to share your mantel at Shabbilicious Friday this week.
