One of the perks of working on the Simply Shabbilicious magazine is getting to meet some of the most amazing bloggers from all around the world.
I recently enjoyed working with Vibeke of Vibeke Design, Norway.
I love Scandinavian decorating and Vibeke’s house is a perfect example of how a beautiful white palette can work as a background.
This gorgeous dresser and plate rack changes almost weekly…
Depending on what coloured accessories are on show.
Vibeke loves gardening too, so fresh flowers feature often in her lovely vignettes.
Many of the beautiful furniture pieces in Vibeke’s home have come from her treasure hunting and thrifting adventures.
They definitely add character and time worn appeal to her home.
Vibeke’s dear little dog Nure features often in the photos of her cottage, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
The family enjoys entertaining friends and family in their lovely garden throughout spring and summer.
And their garden is also the setting for the summer market day they hold, where Vibeke sells her homemade jams.
Vibeke’s decorating talents are not just limited to her home, she also has a gorgeous shop where she sells both new and old wares.
I can highly recommend a visit to Vibeke’s beautiful blog at Vibeke Design.
And you can check out her feature in the latest issue of Simply Shabbilicious magazine.
Thanks for the little vacation. Every photo was a delight!!
Thanks Shannon. It’s a nice escape to wander through someone else’s lovely home… even if it is virtual 🙂
gorgeous…I love her rooms…thanks for sharing her with us
Thanks Bettyann. I never tire of seeing Vibeke’s beautiful photos of her home.
This is stunning – and the perfect inspiration! I have done my apartment as much in white as I could and I was feeling it was… too white. Going to try and incorporate some colorful details! (The only probably is we have this hideous and tradition and super old (400 years) tile thats red, black and gray – nothing works with it!)
Why don’t you paint your tile Madaline? There are lots of DIY’s on Pinterest of other bloggers who have done just that with gorgeous results 🙂
Unfortunately there are HUGE laws here in the historical center of Rome preventing owners/renters from making changes – aka paining the tile could garner a HUGE fine (they are about 300-400 years old…). The floors aren’t even allowed to be changed. If they should (please pray they don’t) cave in, like the floor was destroyed, you have to salvage what you can and then FIND other tiles that are similar to replace them. On one hand this makes me SOOOO mad, however, I have been in a few apartments (while looking for ours) that clearly ignored the law (or maybe did the renovation before it was in place?) and did a HORRIBLE job on buildings that are even 600 or 700 years old…
I’m with Cindy… tile painting can be done. I’ve painted the tiles in my office cream and they were originally terracotta coloured. They are wearing well too.
Oh, I just love Vibeke’s home and adore the latest issue of Shabbilicious magazine!!! Thanks for keeping us inspired, Kerryanne!
Thank you Susan. I couldn’t make the magazine without the gorgeous and very talented contributors who make it so lovely. 🙂
Hi Kerryanne,
