Let’s step back in time…. as I introduce you to Miss Mary Hartwell; a beautiful nineteenth-century lady.
Like many young ladies of her era, Mary’s days are filled with romantic hopes and daydreams, letter writing and calling on friends. She is kind and patient and enamored with the Manor’s picking garden, where she grows the prettiest pink scented roses.
Miss Mary is the heroine of my latest graphics kit for the Handmade Club and I hope you may fall under her spell, as I did while creating all the vintage finery for the June kit.
I’ve used some of the elements from Miss Mary’s Vintage Rose Collection to create this romantic vintage banner.
The kit contains:
– 23 vintage style embellishments, including postcards, calling cards, labels/tags, roses, butterflies and a bingo card.
– two large format (A4 and letter size) vintage receipt papers
– twelve 5″ x 7″ vintage papers
– seven pre-made banner elements
– 4 vintage cupcake wrappers and 4 vintage toppers.
All graphics are high res, transparent PNG files, that come in both ZIP file and as printable PDFs.
To make this banner, I printed the banner PDF file contained in the kit and adhered the banner pennants to lightweight card.
Next, I punched holes in the 5 banner pennants, so I could make them into a hanging garland.
I love lots of luscious layers when paper crafting….. so the next step was cutting out all the elements and layering them. This is such a fun process and one that I played around with for a while until I got it just the way I wanted it.
When I was happy with my layout, I stitched some of the elements in place on my sewing machine and others I glued together with clear glue.
The finishing touches for my vintage banner included the addition of laces, ribbons, buttons, sequins, glitter and a pretty handmade jewel.
Finally, the five banners were joined together with seam binding and silk ribbons.
Of course, any of these banner elements could be used instead on the front of a card or in a pretty junk journal.
I have a couple of other inspiring projects to share with you next week, that I’ve created using this sweet vintage kit.

Can hardly wait to join handmade club, have to wait til next Wed. when we get paid as I am broke. Another 5 week month between SS (social security) paydays. That is my only income. Where we live is quite expensive so my money doesn’t go very far, usually runs out before end of 4th. week no matter how hard I try to be careful. Ah well,it is what it is.
You create the most wonderful projects to print out. Looking forward to making that garland.
My hubs had to fix my internet connection, p/c kept telling me couldn’t connect, grrrr, correct wire not plugged into modem. We have terrible internet here, cause we’re out in rural area connections are limited and not that great of service, very frustrating to have to pay for lousy slow service. Companies don’t care either. What can we do?
Can’t believe it’s Saturday already. Hope you have wonderful weekend. On to find July 4th. crafts.

Hi Maria, the Handamde Club kits are exclusive to members only. Twice a year I offer the older kits to members who may have missed out on them. I just ran this offer last month and will offer it again in 2020.
Happy crafting,
