On Monday I shared my fall inspired leaf tags, made using real leaves.
While they were fun to make, the wheels of creativity kept turning…
So, I then moved on to some shabbilicious leaf tags made using pretty papers.
How to make paper leaf tags:
1. I simply traced around a couple of real leaves, (directly onto scrapbooking paper) to get an authentic leaf shape and then cut them out using sharp scissors.
2. I then used my tack hammer and eyelet punch to add eyelets to the base of each leaf. This makes it easier to attach a string hanger or ribbon.
3. I used a 0.3 black Zig pen (or fineline Sharpie) to add a personal message.
Tip: If you are unsure what style of lettering to use, perhaps try and copy a font you like. I wrote the ‘happy birthday’ freehand and I quite like the imperfect handmade look of it.
There is an alternative for those of you who feel nervous about your hand writing or ability to hand letter…
Try printing a message directly into scrapbooking paper using your computer and printer. Then trace a leaf shape around it and cut out.
The free font I used here is Candlescript.
Imagine the possibilities…
The paper tags could be tied around a candle, tucked inside a card, attached to a gift, or even used as a pretty sign to hang on ribbon from a hook or door knob.
My mind is ticking over with so many ideas!

KerryAnne, That is just beautiful. I love your ideas, they are always gorgeous and make me want to make them. Just a little mention that if you don’t have a way to put the script on your paper, you can always go to PICMONKEY ( free to use) and insert your saying from there onto your paper, then you can print it and cut out your leaves. It is really easy to use and very self-explanatory. I love PicMonkey so much and it helps me to make many lovely things. It really fills the spot if you don’t have PhotoShop or the Photoshop Elements program of which I have neither. Hope this helps someone. Thank you for all the lovely ideas you give us, they are so appreciated.
I have to agree with Mary. Imperfect? Nope! I would definitely have to print the message from my computer. Thank you for the tutorial….
