I love when good things happen to good people…
So, today I’m sharing with you a good thing that has happened to my friend Anita at Cedar Hill Farmhouse.
I’m beyond excited to be helping Anita promote her first book…
I’m sure many of you already know Anita. I’ve featured her here on my blog many times and her gorgeous farmhouse has been featured in Simply Shabbilicious magazine too.
Anita has such a beautiful style of decorating that embraces her passion for French farmhouse, but also remains livable, practical and above all, welcoming.
Every room of her house invites a response… from exciting focal pieces to interesting items of furniture. I think it is her ability to put it all together that gives it such ‘wow’ factor.
It’s been so exciting following Anita’s journey of writing this book. She took all the photos herself and put an amazing amount of work into producing a book that is so unlike other décor books.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be included in the group of bloggers joining Anita for the Book Blog Tour.
When the publisher sent me a copy of Anita’s book to review last month, I knew from my first flick through that this wasn’t just a pretty décor picture book.
While it does contain beautiful photos, Anita shows you easy, practical and affordable ways to achieve this look in your own home and it is delivered in her lovely, friendly and chatty style. Honestly, it’s just like sitting down with Anita for a coffee and a chat about French inspired home décor.
This paragraph from the book’s introduction certainly sums up the feel of the book…
“This book is about the journey to create Farmhouse French style in a comfortable, inviting way that welcomes friends and family and makes them feel celebrated and loved. It includes DIY tips and tricks so you can do it all on a budget. This book is about adding Farmhouse French accents to your home—combining cozy, rustic charm with a quiet, elegant style”.
I spent over a week reading this book and I know it is a book that I will return to over and over again.
A lot of Anita’s information about choosing and placing furniture and room design is applicable to all styles of decorating, so this is a book that will appeal to many, not just the lovers of French decorating.
I absolutely loved it from beginning to end… that’s 245 pages of gorgeousness, so I have no hesitation in recommending this book!
