Hi creative friends,
As the vibrant blossoms of spring adorn the Australian landscape, I find myself in a unique and delightful situation.
While the southern hemisphere welcomes the warm embrace of spring, I am simultaneously immersed in the enchanting world of autumn.
How is this possible, you ask?
Well, allow me to invite you into my craft room… a haven where I create content for my beloved northern hemisphere readers and customers who are currently basking in the splendor of fall.
Here in the northern part of Australia, our climate is subtropical, which means we don’t experience the true essence of autumn during the months of March to May.
Instead, our transition from scorching summer to mild winter is more subtle.
But that doesn’t stop me from relishing in the beauty and coziness of autumn.
I have the privilege of crafting content for readers across the globe, a majority of whom reside in the northern hemisphere, including Europe, the USA, and Canada.
For them, autumn or fall is a cherished season… a time of falling leaves, pumpkin-spiced everything, and the promise of snug evenings by the fire.
And let me tell you, I wholeheartedly enjoy embracing it too, even if it arrives a little later for me.
In my craft room, I’ve welcomed autumn with open arms, embracing its warm neutrals and delicate blush pinks.
These hues lend an air of sophistication and charm, creating a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for crafting and creativity.
My workspace is adorned with handmade autumn leaves, charming fabric pumpkins, and whimsical foxie ladies.
Each piece reflects the essence of the season, and they serve as a beautiful backdrop for my creative endeavors.
To infuse the room with warmth and ambience, I’ve strategically placed candles and bud lighting throughout my craft room.
I love how the soft glow of candlelight dances on the walls, creating a serene and tranquil environment.
It’s as if I’m crafting in the soft embrace of an autumn twilight, even as the Australian sun shines brightly outside my window.
While the rest of my house is decorated in fresh spring colours and blooms, my craft room remains a testament to my love for autumn.
It’s my ‘happy place,’ a sanctuary where I can fully immerse myself in the season’s charm.
The contrast between the springtime cheer in the rest of my home and the warm coziness of my craft room is a reflection of my passion for celebrating both hemispheres’ seasons.
As I work on autumn-themed crafts and content, I can’t help but appreciate the beauty of this season and its ability to inspire creativity.
My craft room serves as a constant reminder of the beauty in embracing different seasons and sharing them with others.
It’s a space where autumn is not limited to a few months but can be enjoyed at any time of year.
While spring blooms outside my window, I’m savoring every moment of autumn’s coziness right here in my ‘happy place.’
It’s a testament to the magic of crafting, the joy of creating, and the beauty of embracing the world’s seasons, no matter where you are.
Projects shown in this post are:
- Faux fabric pumpkin coasters
- Trio of fabric pumpkins
- DIY fabric foxes
- Faux patchwork sampler
- Leaves, framed collages and paper foxes are from the Fox Hollow digital kit from the Craft Room membership.
So, what’s the secret to enjoying autumn in a subtropical paradise?
It’s all about creating a magical room where the season changes to accommodate the mood.
In my craft room, I’m crafting all kinds of shabby autumn gorgeousness, surrounded by my fabric pumpkin stacks, pumpkin and leaf coasters, whimsical pumpkins, fall banners, and charismatic foxie ladies. Regardless of what the weather is doing outside, when I walk through that door, I’ve entered my ‘happy place,’ and it feels perfect.
PIN for later
So, whether you’re in the northern or southern hemisphere, let your crafting space be a reflection of your love for the changing seasons and a testament to the joy of crafting.
Happy crafting,
♥
