Hi creative friends,
Each month, I’m delighted to shine a light on one of our wonderfully creative Craft Room members and share their crafting journey with our community.
This month, our Crafter of the Month is the lovely Tracy Painter from Georgia, USA.

Tracy’s story is one of creativity passed lovingly from mother to daughter, and her heartfelt connection to crafting beautifully reflects what our Craft Room community is all about… joy, connection, and creativity.
A Lifelong Love of Crafting
Tracy grew up surrounded by creativity. Her late mother, an art major and avid crafter, inspired her with talents that spanned painting, sewing, ceramics, and doll making.
Watching her mother fearlessly try new crafts instilled in Tracy a “can-do” attitude and deep appreciation for handmade artistry.

Even as she pursued a career in accounting, Tracy never lost her creative spark.
From sewing her first (slightly wonky) shorts as a child to carefully redoing her first cross-stitch project, she learned that mistakes were simply part of the creative journey… lessons lovingly nurtured by her mother’s patience and encouragement.
One of Tracy’s most treasured creations is a ceramic nativity set that she made side by side with her mom. For 25 years now, that special set has graced her Christmas mantel … a heartfelt reminder of love, family, and the creative bond they shared.

Finding Her Style
Tracy describes her style as light, bright, and a little bit pink!
Her crafting journey has evolved through many creative seasons… from scrapbooking and cardmaking to beaded jewelry and miniatures… but she found her true niche in paper crafting.
“I realized my artistic passion was in paper crafting because it can incorporate all of my creative loves,” Tracy shared.

The Craft Room Connection
When Tracy lost her mom in 2020, she found it difficult to create for a while.
Then, one day, she discovered Shabby Art Boutique and the beautiful projects shared by our Design Team on Pinterest.
Captivated by the shabby, feminine aesthetic, she joined The Craft Room (with a little help from her husband’s Facebook account!).
Tracy says,
“The Craft Room restored my creativity and joy in crafting. It became an escape, an inspirational place to learn new skills, and a community of connection as I began the empty nest phase.”
Through our community, she’s found not just new techniques but also meaningful friendships… a beautiful reminder of how creativity connects us all.

Inspirations and Essentials
Tracy credits her mom for her “can-do” attitude and finds ongoing inspiration in the Craft Room community… from Kerryanne’s hand-painted designs to the stunning projects shared by members and the Design Team.
Her crafting essentials:
- A good pair of scissors
- A variety of adhesives
- A trusty non-stick bone folder
- And of course… any kit from Kerryanne English!

Currently on Her Craft Table
Tracy just completed two care packages… one for a neighbor and another for a friend… and is now working on a birthday project for her mother-in-law using the Teddy Bear’s Picnic kit.
“My next project is for my mother-in-law’s birthday. She is very talented and crafty herself and is probably the biggest fan of anything I hand make. She appreciates and understands the love and time put into handmade items. I plan to use the Teddy Bear’s Picnic kit from the Craft Room because my mother-in-law’s mom collected teddy bears. It’s also “beary” cute theming since her youngest son’s name is Barry…which is my husband.”

Tracy’s story is a beautiful reflection of what makes our Craft Room community so special… creativity sparked by love, nurtured by connection, and expressed through handmade joy.
Thank you, Tracy, for sharing your heart and your creativity with us. ♥
We’re so inspired by your journey and delighted to celebrate you as our Crafter of the Month!
Happy crafting,
Hugs
