Just because we are having a less formal and smaller gathering for Christmas dinner this year, it doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful.
I’ve laid out our dining table using the pastel versions of the traditional red and green…
And it truly makes me smile!
You can click the links below to get the quick and easy tutorials for my hand stamped napkins…
and the faux patchwork stocking cutlery holders.
Inside the bowls I’ve used my Shabby Fabric Hearts and my Vintage Book Paper Baubles.
Mix and match chinaware from IKEA and GreenGate give an informal cottage feel to the table.
To tie the theme together I used the hand stamped words on the napkins, ornaments and even on a tealight candle.
To make the tealight candle, simply use a piece of ripped fabric, stamp your word, then wrap around the candle case. A dollop of glue will keep the ends secure.
The centerpiece was made with a faux garland as the base. I added fresh greens from my garden and hydrangea in pinks and creams. We have so many hydrangeas in bloom right now and these dusty pink ones are perfect for a pastel Christmas.
Tucked into the greenery are my faux patchwork ornies and handmade fabric peonies.
Finally, a strand of battery operated mini lights were woven through the greenery for that little touch of magic.
Christmas doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult…
And what could be nicer than a handmade shabbilicious Christmas!
[pin for later]
Happy Christmas crafting!

So many beautiful ideas and they could so easily be adapted for spring and summer table settings particularly in our northern hemisphere. I knew I was going to love your site when I found it last week.
This looks so pretty Kerryane – I love the soft colour scheme.

So beautiful! I love your pastel arrangements and dishes. Brings to mind sugarplums dancing in my head. The mini lights are a perfect delicate addition. Have a good day, Linda
