Hello creative friends,
I always treat the week between Christmas and the New Year as a kind of ‘staycation’… and to be honest, sometimes it lasts beyond the one week.
It’s summer holidays here in Australia and with the family home, we enjoy a more relaxed, slower pace. I use this time to breathe, meditate, read real books, take afternoon nana naps if needed and best of all, I plan my year ahead.
As you already know, I’m a real list girl and love being organised, so just the thought of sitting down with a calendar and diary fills me with absolute joy…. plus, the added bonus in taking some much needed time for myself to think about the year ahead is the boost in creativity that I always get.
So this past few days I’ve been gathering my ideas for 2022 from my art journals and planning projects in my creativity planner. I’ve drawn up themes for the Handmade Club and even some fun new directions to hopefully try in 2022.
This will be my 15th year blogging on Shabby Art Boutique and my 30th year in business, so I feel really positive about these milestones for 2022 and look forward to sharing it with you…. but before we do, let’s take a look at some of the things my readers loved on Shabby Art Boutique in 2021.
A Year in Review
In January I kicked off the new year with a brand new yearlong project – A Year of Positivity.
The free printable postcards and envelopes were always one of my top posts every month and I really enjoyed seeing how you used them.
You can see every month’s postcards listed on the December post.
Another extremely popular post throughout the year was a tour of my craft room in March.
My craft room is always changing and evolving… it’s my work place and needs to be stimulating and inspiring.
If you are interested in knowing how I set it up and what furniture works best for me… read on here.

One of the top blog posts for 2021 was an educational post…. My Top 3 Tips for Printing Graphics at Home.
How to print graphics is still one of the most asked questions I receive, so if you download any of my free printables or club kits, please be sure to read this post before printing and you’ll be able to achieve great results using your home printer.
Throughout 2021 I shared lots of projects from myself and the Design Team for the Handmade Club and hopefully you found these useful, even if you are not a member of the club.
Most Popular Free Printables

What a wonderful room and beautiful projects. Your room is so cheerful and sunny. Here in Atlantic Canada we are snowy and dreary. Not always so sunny in my studio but with some lights and music it is a cozy place to work away. Thank you and all the best for the New Year.

Thank you Em. I am very fortunate to live in a sunny climate, so the room is always bathed in light…. sometimes that makes taking photos a bit hard, but I do enjoy having lots of natural sunlight. I guess we all make the best of what we have and just the fact that we have a designated creative space is a blessing.
Happy New Year sweetie x
