Today. . .
Hmm. . . yes I’m being a tad self indulgent today. . . but sometimes you just need a ‘ME’ day.
A day when you toss that ‘To DO’ list aside. . . forget about the non essentials
. . .and just concentrate on doing what you love!
It’s not like I don’t have a plethora of creative things that need doing, cause for sure I have a big long list. No, todays break in the work schedule has more to do with circumstance. We had a big old storm front due to come through last night, so the gorgeous ‘Bored Housewives’ (Tuesday night craft class) packed up my studio and moved everything up off the ground.
The storm came through as warned, but thankfully there was no flooding in my studio this time. The worst of the weather has moved further north, but we still have persistent and at times, very heavy rain. My plans to work outside today have been scratched. . . so a new plan was needed!!
First thing I had to do this morning was to unpack the studio and put everything back in its place.
I did a bit of a clean up while I was at it. . .
I played with some new thrifted wares. . .
and then I ‘foofed’ and ‘fluffed’ with my studio pretties!!
I don’t know about you, but I get a great deal of enjoyment just playing with and appreciating my crafting supplies. . . feeling the textures, grouping the colours, sorting and folding. . . just simply enjoying the eye candy.
After all that ‘foofing’ I was inspired to jot down a few new ideas in my creative ideas journal, so having a morning off has been good for the creative juices too.
Now that I have a clean studio and an open schedule, I’ve decided to spend the afternoon creating something just for ME. A creative piece that sings to my heart . . without having to consider will others like the colours or the design. . . or whether it is practical or even profitable. Hmm. . . I might even use some of the pretties I’ve saved in the secret ‘just for me’ stash.
Until next time,
Hugs ~ Kerryanne
Sounds like a good plan!
Everyone needs a “Me” day!! I am taking a “Me” month…lol!! Hard to get back to work after so much time off!!! Love the painted roses!!!
Enjoy your ‘ME’ day, lot’s of lovely eye candy in your photo’s :O)
Sounds like you’re having a great day! We’ve also weathered the storm down here on the Central Coast. Glad it didn’t damage your studio. I think we all deserve “Me” days, most of us girls have to do a lot of juggling around home and family to be successfully creative, so that is definately deserving of more “Me” days!!!Happy creating! Robyn
Wow, I’m glad you knew ahead of time about the storm and what it could do to get your things to a safer place, Kerryanne. I love the idea of a creative journal! I have so many ideas and I think if I write them down rather than lay out supplies to jog my memory, it will keep my area neater. I love to go through what I have, too. Besides revisiting pretty things it helps to remind me what I have in my supplies and sometimes I find that one perfect thing that will finish something off.
Me days are great for getting those creative juices flowing and I’m sure that whatever you create will be gorgeous
My In-Laws car broke down and they were stuck in Port Macquarie yesterday and this morning. Mmmm, Not a bad place to get stuck in. I am glad it wasn’t stormy and flooding for both their sake and your sake. It’s nice to have a ‘Me’ day.

Creating a place where you don’t consider what anyone will think of it or that no one may even see is a great way to come up with great ideas. You don’t hold back and try to please and that’s where some of the coolest ideas come from. Hope you had an enjoyable time.
