The creative space . . . a much sort after piece of real estate for any creative person.
My latest project has had me thinking about other peoples creative spaces . . . what’s the most popular type of space . . . how do others decorate their creative area?
Is it a designated room?
or maybe it’s tucked away in a cupboard. . .
. . . or out in the garden.
Is it simple and sweet. . .
. . . a fully decked out beautiful shabby work space . . .
or perhaps. . . everything you need fits neatly into a suitcase!
There’s no doubt creative spaces come in all shapes, sizes and colours.
I’d love to know all about yours. . . so if you can spare a minute, please leave a comment.

I have a sunroom off my bedroom which I am in the process of turning into my craft room, it’s a long slow process though! lol xo

I’d like to have a craft room!!! I work on the table in my kitchen and this is a big big problem for my family when it’s time for lunch or dinner 🙂

Kerryanne, love these beautiful images, very inspiring. My favourite is the blue one in the cupboard. My creative space is all piled onto one large desk in our spare room, along with all my hoard of craft supplies. When I do get into a creating frenzy I usually end up spreading out all through the house. So I think a creating house for me would be the ultimate, I think we creative women deserve more than squeezing into one room. Why not a small home…tee hee wishful thinking! Happy week to all, hugs Robyn x

I totally agree with you robynart. creative women definitely deserve more than squeezing into one room 🙂

I have just recently moved into my very first designated sewing space. I have always before either shared it with the spare room or been in the lounge/dining room. I am in the process of decorating in a bit of a shabby/county style.

I’m lucky to have a designated room, it’s very cosy and I’m slowly giving it the shabby treatment too!

I used to have a beautiful office/workspace. Tough times and circumstance have put me in a very tiny space (I am so grateful to have!!! )
I have a little nook on the far side of the room.(Did I mention, I live in a one room efficiency like apartment)??
The nook is nothing special really, I have 1 bookcase filled with all my jewelry supplies, tools, and relevant office needs. I am using a kitchen table since I no longer have a desk, though this one is used just for working, not dinner or lunch 🙂
My laptop and work lamp fit nicely on the kitchen table and I have plenty of room. I use an office chair where I sit but I have the other chairs I use for propping my feet!! (Now that is cool!!)
I totally miss my old work space, but I am very grateful and blessed to have the space I do. Perhaps I could paint the bookcase, maybe putting wallpaper or something on the inside back to give it a little make-over. The only other decorative idea I could implement would be doing something to the table. I have no clue what that will be.
Thanks for letting us share. I love to see other Artists’ work spaces!!

My husband and I built a his and hers, garage and workshop. Each of us has is 20′ x 40′! I am fortunate to have a full workshop set up, with table saw, planer, jointer, routers and drills, etc. In the front room I have my worktable for designing and painting things.

When we moved into this house one of the bedrooms was earmarked as my sewing room but over the years it has become a bit of a dumping ground for stuff that should really be up in the loft.
I’ve never had a specific space for my papercrafting and as a result it has spread to most areas of the house – what I need to do is completly empty a room and sort out suitable storage so that stuff can go back into the room in an organised fashion.
Unfortunately, I think it would take a lottery win to achieve what I would really like………..
