Hello my ‘shabbilicious’ friends…
Just popping in with a little SAB update.
It’s fast becoming one of those ‘crazy’ type weeks here…
Which, in the scheme of things, is sort of becoming the norm around here these days.
So with this crazy mixed up schedule of mine, creativity just has to slot in amongst other activities…
Lucky for me, my favourite thrifting haunts are on the way to other places, so they too, just slot into the schedule when I’m out and about.
Hmm, and sometimes… like last week for instance, I diverted slightly from my planned trip to the bank, (which happens to be in the other direction) to respond to a silent beckoning.
I swear something was calling my name.
It was one of those quick run in… do a quick scan… hone in on one or two pieces… grab… pay… and run type thrifting trips.
I bet you’ve done that at one time or another too!!
And I suspect this is what was calling my name.
A very sweet and practical cotton reel holder.
She’s been handmade and is perfect for my sewing corner in the craft room.
I simply cleaned her and brushed on a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk PaintTM (pure white).
After a light sanding, she is now totally shabbilicious.
Do you hear discarded pieces of furniture and bric-a-brac calling your name too?
Oh, please say you do….
You know the neighbourhood whispers are already circulating once you’ve been spotted picking up people’s junk off the roadside.
I’m one Chinese whisper away from being known as the local cray-cray woman if they hear I’m responding to talking thrift shop items as well!! [wink]
Don’t forget, today is the last day to enter my
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint GIVEAWAY – HERE.
I’m sharing my shabby cotton reel holder with these friends this week:
The Scoop, Project Inspired , French Country Cottage,
Sundays at Home, The Inspiration Gallery

Your cotton reel holder looks great, Kerryanne.

Oh Kerryanne, your reel holder is beautiful – it would have been so rude not to have responded to that ‘voice’ calling your name.
After seeing your beautiful picnic basket it must have been fate that I stopped at my local shops on my way out because sitting outside one of the many charity shops we have was a picnic basket looking very un-loved and calling to me to take it home – what could I do.
I have a week of leave coming up in August and I plan to get stuck in – I think mine may be reincarnated as a sewing basket…we shall see.
