Welcoming in a New Year!!!

I felt well enough to get out of bed in the wheelchair for a few hours this morning and I didn’t waste a moment of it. As you can see, Gypsy the studio/bed buddy was quick to take her place on my lap.

This was probably due to the fact that while I have been laid up in bed for the past month, Miss Aimee and the Gypster have been scooting around the house together doing dare devil maneuvers in the wheelchair. I on the other hand crawl along at a snails pace just trying to avoid banging into the walls, so no excitement for Gypsy today…LOL

I decided today WAS the day to dismantle the Christmas decorations and enlisted the help of hubby and the girls. I usually milk Christmas for all it’s worth and wouldn’t dare contemplate removing any decs before January 6th, but this year is different. 2008 was my ‘Annus Horribillous’. I just want it over and done with…packed up…. put away….. finished!! This includes packing up Christmas and restoring normality to our household. It now feels fresh and renewed and I even played around a bit with new vignettes for a total change.

This was a pretty handmade decoration from Maureen – thanks Mausy, I loved it and look forward to putting it out again next year.
With New Years celebrations just a few hours away, I’m not going to make any outlandish New Years Resolutions or predictions. I believe last year I said something to the effect of…. ‘I just know 2008 is going to be a great year – I love even numbers and 8 is a lucky number…yes bound to be a great year’. Well clearly, I was wrong!!!

So, I’m looking forward to tomorrow – a new day, a new year, a fresh start.

I hope 2009 is a year of good health and happiness – not only for my family but for everyone of my friends too.

Before I sign off for 2008 I’d just like to say ‘Get well soon’ to my friend and walking buddy Anne. Although I haven’t been walking for the best part of 12 months, prior to 2008 Anne and I were walking buddies for many years.

Anne has gone out in sympathy with me and is laid up for 6 weeks with a broken foot…..[giggle] ….. sorry Anne – I know everyone keeps laughing. It is just the mental picture of you walking around in the dark checking out the neighbourhood Christmas lights and then rolling off the pavement and braking your foot outside some poor unsuspecting neighbours light display….[giggle]…too funny.

Seriously, I hope you make a speedy recovery and that both of us are back on our feet and walking together again in 2009.

    aND WHILST 2008 FOR YOU WAS’NT A STELLA YEAR YOU TOOK UP THE gAUNTLET AND DID YOUR BEST WITH ALL IT WAS…tHAT IS VERY ADMIRABLE.
    I do hope and pray that 2009 though offers you brighter skies and happy days.
    You do look pretty “spankin” in your “tEDS”,i was laid up once and had to wear the sexy stockings too!
    Anyway it has been a delight to get to know you…

  4. Hey Kerryanne! Now tell us the truth – you and Gypsy were really chuckin’ donnuts in the lounge room and doing spin-outs in the hall! Tee! Hee! Hee! I think that 2009 is going to be SENSATIONAL, especially with the promise of a play-date for us on the agenda – not to mention more email chats, giggles and surprise mail offerings! So glad you’re on the improve – you’ll be dancing down the hallway in no time! Hmmm … perhaps you should start with a slow, sexy stroll and work your way up! :0) Bear Hugs and New Year Wishes! KRIS
