Creativity is the process of bringing something new into being….
It requires passion and commitment.
But what if your MOJO has left town….
Or life has got too busy… and stress and tiredness has zapped all your creativity?
It happens to everyone at some point, so let me share with you my 5 top tips to boost your CREATIVITY.
1. Learn a new technique.
The perfect kick start for your creativity is to simply try something new. Are you stuck in a routine… always doing the same thing? Try using a new technique to make something you’ve always wanted to have a go at. Explore new ways of doing your everyday activities and feel the inspiration that arises form it.
2. Use a different medium.
Are you comfortable using a particular medium? Does it feel safe and reliable? Move out of your comfort zone and explore different mediums. Feel free to express yourself…. explore, experiment and be free!
3. Socialise with other creative people.
This is one of my favorite ones… I do it weekly and really enjoy the time spent with my creative friends. We all have different creative pursuits, but are still able to support and encourage each other in our individual endeavors. We bounce ideas of each other, share skills and personal experiences. I always come away from these events feeling inspired.
4. Gather inspiration from other cretive sources.
There’s no excuses these days not to find inspiration online. Spend some time exploring Pinterest and make a pin board of visually inspiring images. Visit beautiful blogs and be stimulated by the creative world of others. There are also many other social medias that are just as inspiring and a great source to put some creative fire in your belly!
5. Document your thoughts and ideas in a journal.
This is something I’ve done now for a great many years. I have a variety of journals… some are just for written ideas, others are visual. Having a journal provides a platform to develop and explore ideas. It gets the idea out of your head, which allows room for more ideas to form.
These 5 tips are just a start… there are many other exciting ways to boost your creativity.

Great post, very timely for me! Sometimes I feel like inspiration and creativity are finite, and that I’ll just wake up one day and run out. But it’s true, the more you use your creativity, the more you have!

All great advice and something I need reminding of at the moment. I know you often speak of journals and I am going to follow your lead and put my ideas in one. It has been something I have done in the past occasionally but I seem to have lost my way. Thank you for guiding me back on the path. xo
