If you’ve been following my creative journey for awhile, then you may remember about this time last year I rather reluctantly took on a new challenge. . .
One that I was soooo unprepared for!
I put on my driving instructors hat and began teaching my eldest daughter to drive.
In those early days our lessons felt akin to a theme park rollercoaster ride. . .
blazing speed, sweeping turns, pops of airtime and flying over unseen speed humps that lifted my buns from my seat.
However, 120 hours of driving experience later. . . we’ve survived the ride, learnt allot about each other and driving.
Finally, I can sit in the passenger seat quite relaxed, knowing that she has mastered this new skill.
Yesterday she passed her drivers license test and has ditched the learner plates for her red P’s.
Well done ‘Princess Jess’
So, one worry ends and another one starts. . . now I will worry every time she is out there driving around in her little car!!!

So glad you survived, my GF is going through this at present and the stories.
As a teenager she has a mobile so I hope she understands that it is necessary to call her DM and assure her she is alright (I’m still required to do this if I travel more than 1 hour that DM knows about) 🙂

Yes the worry never ends does it.I’m sure I drove my daughter crazy by making her txt me when she gets there and when she’s leaving to come home. But it definitely made ME feel better.Have relaxed a bit now but cant help worrying if she’s a little later than expected.I guess thats what us Mums do and probably always will.I bet Jess is so excited!!

You are a brave Mum, My husband taught our two children to drive.
Red Heads says
Congrats. Jess. Just remember it is the OTHER person on that same road as you, that you have to look out for. Never take for granted that just because YOU have the rightaway that they will obey that rule. Sorry my dear I sure am sounding like a MOM. Be careful & have fun my dear. Both hands on the wheel. ha. ha. Blessings: D.

Congratulations Jess! Kerryanne, just because they have a mobile doesn’t mean they remember to use it to call their mum. A social life can be so distracting :P.

Hey Kerryanne! Congrats to you both … Princess Jess for passing the tests and to you for surviving the learning process! :0) I say you’ve earned a nice rest in front of the heater with your feet up, an adult beverage by your side, some chocolate and a good book or stitching … your nerves could probably use the break! :0) Oh … and the worrying when she’s on the road??? Never stops!! I’m 41 and still have to ring my Mum when I arrive home after a long trip! Tee! Hee! Hee! Bear Hugs! KRIS
