Willy Wonka said his chocolate was ‘scrumdillitelyumpschous’ and I think my choc chop cookies are right up there with his chocolate!!
In our house this is comfort food at its best.
Miss Aimee had braces fitted on Monday, which not surprisingly has put her a little off her food. . . . so I’ve made a batch of her favourite cookies to try and tempt her this afternoon.
My kids have been sitting at the kitchen bench making these cookies with me since they could walk. They are simple, quick and of course contain every girls favourite ingredient. . . chocolate!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
-
125gm (4oz) butter
-
1/2 cup sugar
-
1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
-
1 egg
-
1 3/4 cup self raising flour
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
125gm (4oz) chocolate chips
Cream together butter, sugars and vanilla.Add lightly beaten egg gradually, beating well after each addition. Mix in sifted flour and salt. Add chocolate chips.
Shape teaspoons of mixture into small balls, place on lightly greased over trays, allowing room for spreading. Bake in moderate over for 10 – 12 minutes.
Hope you’ll try our family favourite.
Enjoy!!

I read on Facebook that yesterday was National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (I’m not making this up) so you are right on time!!! These look delish. We are a serious chocolate chip cookie-eating family, and I will definitely be trying this. Will pin to my Pinterest with a link back to your blog. Thanks for sharing. Hugs ~ Mary
Our number one son is also having braces fitted at the moment, had teeth out this week to make room, might just have to whip a batch of these for him as well. Thanks Kerryanne!! Jo x
