As much as I am looking forward to my move north and a lifestyle change there has to be a negative side and I found it this week –
SAYING GOODBYE!!
It’s been a week full of goodbyes and it saddens me to know that I won’t be seeing my gorgeous friends as frequently as I have in the past. Of course the world really is a small place now with the availability of emails, blogs, phone calls etc, but they can’t take the place of a great big squeeze hug with one of your besties.
Tuesday night I went out with my painting pals. Here we are at Lindos Restaurant where we had a scrumptious meal, lots of laughs and a most enjoyable evening.
The girls surprised me with some very thoughtful and unexpected going away gifts. The main one was a joint gift from all of them which was designed and handmade by Vikki.

Do you see what I see? It is the most amazing bag in my favourite colour blue. Vikki designed the front panel based on the photo of Lighthouse Beach from my post last week – scroll down to see the incredible likeness.

Inside the bag they packed a great little sketch pad and drawing pencils. Just perfect for a walk down to the beach.

When you lift the front panel there is even more pretties on the inside. The sun overlooks the stitched saying “May the sun always shine on your dreams”.

Vikki, I think you are amazingly talented and I can’t wait until you release your new patterns so others can see how talented you are and share in your designs. You put so much time, thought and hours into producing what can only be described as the perfect gift for me.
To all my painting pals – I’ll miss you all more than you can ever know. Sometimes the planets just align and the mix of friends is PERFECT. This is what we have. I am richer and blessed for having the opportunity of knowing you all.
Continuing on with my week of goodbyes, I caught up with Anna from Anna Rosa Designs and Hazel from Kintail Studio for a farewell lunch on Wednesday. Another most enjoyable get together with gorgeous friends. You have both been a huge support to me in business/art matters and during my period of poor health. I’m sure we will catch up again when I visit Melbourne and/or at a future Convention or painting workshop.
The packing count is at 246 boxes and still going…. but slowing down.
Our house is so empty it now echos. In a way this is good. Without all my pretties around the house it is feeling less and less like my home, so leaving will not be as traumatic as I first thought. My mind is now fixed on the renovations and decorating of the new house.
I hope you all have a great weekend. I’ve got some more farewells planned and the last of the packing and cleaning.
Hugs ~ Kerryanne
Hi there sweetie! 🙂
You are right about those planets aligning… we share fantastic friendships, us painting girls!!
And I’m going to be corny… why not! YOU ARE A STAR!!!
I am so stoked that you like your bag, Kerryanne. The love you feel from it is exactly what I was hoping for. {hugs} You are very cherished. I have been so good with the ‘waterworks’ up until now! {sniff sniff!}
Anyway, I have no sense of space and time, so as far as I’m concerned – you’re only “up the road”!
Love and hugs!
Vikki xoxo 🙂
Goodness you are a special Lady who will be missed ! AWH Kerryanne what a brave wonderful move you are making and I am looking forward to your exciting travels
Lots of Good Luck to you and your family
xo
Oh how sad for you Kerryanne, they will miss you as much as you are going to miss them . What a gorgeous bag Vikki made , what talent !
Hey Kerryanne! How spoilt are you, not only a wonderful group of painting buddies, but a GORGEOUS and unique bag from the clever-clogs Vikki!! It’s always sad to end one chapter of our lives before we go on to another, but some friends just keep being woven into our story, and I’m sure that will be the case with your painting friends. Bear Hugs! KRIS
I remember that Echo…It was like part of detatching.
I loved My Actual House I left,But not where it was!
And Look at you Miss With your straightened hair!!!
Wow!
The bag is gorgeous and so are all your friends,It sounds like you all really banded together throughout your last gruelling months.
A move a state away cannot break those bonds.
It’s always hard to say goodbye to old friends…but they all sound like true and caring friends that will be a part of your life even when you are living in another state. How gorgeous is that bag they made and how thoughtful!I guess the next hardest part will be the girls saying goodbye to their buddies 🙁 But it is also very exciting starting a new life
xx Lucinda

Hi Kerryanne,
I felt a bit teary reading your post, we have been very lucky to have had such a great group of painting friends. I have loved spending Tuesday nights with you all and all though the rest of us will still meet your presence will be greatly missed. As you said the world is much smaller now and I look forward to hearing about all your new adventures via your blog and email.
Love and will miss you,
Karen J XX
oh Kerryanne I am catching up with your news, sorry I have not been by…
a brave move but it’s nice up here! I know how sad it is to leave old friends but what I’ve learnt is the good ones stay with you and you lose the ones that really weren’t as good as perhaps you thought, and I don’t mean that in a harsh way…
how’s the recovery holding up in all this?
