Christmas … it IS the most wonderful time of the year!
A time for celebration and a time for reflection. A time for catching up with friends, old and new, near and far. A time for music and movies. A time for cooking and baking, creating and crafting.
Hello! My name is Lani … the writer and crafter, and quilter at Simply Fresh Vintage.
I’m delighted to spend a few minutes with you today! My favorite part of Christmas is the decorating. As I start to pull out the decorations, I’m excited for the adventure of preparing for the season. I also find myself going back in time and reminiscing. Whether it be "memories on branches," a special dwelling in the "village," or a vintage light-up Santa, the years just seem to come tumbling through my mind.
There’s only one thing I love more than the glitz and the glamour of the lights and shiny ornaments … handmade gifts. More specifically, quilted treasures. I have been an avid quilter for almost 30 years. My day is not complete unless I’ve spent at least a half hour working on a quilt project. I love every part of the process … from picking the pattern, to choosing the fabrics … cutting the pieces and then putting them together. I even love to hand-stitch the binding. But I especially love relaxing on the couch, covered in a large handmade quilt, reading a book, working on some quilt applique, or watching a Hallmark movie. A couple of years ago, I began to experiment with making a few designs of my own.
I’m delighted to share a pattern I’ve designed for Kerryanne’s friends here at Shabby Art Boutique.
Ribbon Candy Tablerunner
My inspiration for this pattern is a sweet Christmas treat that I loved as a child … Christmas Ribbon Candy.
Every year, especially for the holidays, I find myself whipping up a new table runner or two. They’re quick and easy, can almost always be made with fabric left over from other projects, and are very versatile.
They can be used on your dining table, on the kitchen island, across a dresser, or an end table, even across the bottom of a bed. The possibilities are endless.
This pattern uses three fabrics … a background solid, and two prints. I used two tonal’s from 3 Sisters for Moda. This pattern would also look beautiful in prints that have metallic.
The full-color pattern can be downloaded by clicking on the picture below.
Please be sure to stop by and see some of the other projects that I have available. And while you are there, be sure to sign up for my email newsletter and follow along on social media.

For For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ~ Isaiah 9:6
What a lovely runner. Thank you Lani for sharing this with Kerryanne’s followers.
