Have you noticed all the Christmas trees on vintage cars kicking around the home tours this year?
They are so cute and nostalgic.
I’m joining a blog hop today with a group of bloggers whom all have their own version of Christmas trees on cars.
Our Christmas tree on a vintage car is actually a sentimental one.
This car was a gift we gave to our brother-in-law quite a few years ago.
It was a replica of an old EH Holden, which he’d owned as a young man.
Sadly, our brother-in-law Ron battled Leukemia in 2010 and died within 11 months of being diagnosed, at just 51 years of age.
His passing was such a loss for our family… we all loved him deeply.
After his funeral his wife, my hubbies sister, asked if we’d like to keep the car in memory of Ron.
It sits on a shelf in our breakfast nook, where we can all see if and reflect often on the life on a man who was loved by so many.
Sooo… it is fitting for us to dress up the old EH Holden for Christmas with its own Christmas tree.
I think Christmas is a time of year when all of us reflect on those loved ones whom are no longer with us.

What a poignant and beautiful post, Kerryanne. I was all set to gush over the beautiful car but then read on to learn about your bother in law. This is a beautiful tribute to him and a great reminder to all. Merry Christmas! xo
Such a sweet memory of your brother-in-law. Your photos are Gorgeous!! I’d love to have a car like this!
hugs,
Debbie
Kerryanne, I love your vignette… but even more the story. I’m so sorry for the heartache and empty spot you feel for your brother-in-law. What a lovely way you’ve chosen to remember him and include him in your Christmas.
All the best for an extraordinary Christmas!
Your car and vignette are so pretty, Kerryanne! I love the color ~ so shabby chic.
Kerryanne, such a beautiful way to remember your Brother In Law. I’m sure he loves it.
I started with my trucks and trees last Christmas! Mine are all red. Your truck, however, is a great, unexpected color that really pops. And what a nice remembrance of your BIL. Have a blessed Christmas!

What a lovely way to remember your BIL.
