When my sister-in-law was about 38 weeks pregnant she very graciously allowed me to take some photos of her in all her pregnancy glory. My intention at the time was to use the photos as a resource for a painting at a later date.
At the time my SIL didn’t want to see the photos so I stored them on a disk until I thought she would be ready to see them. I think enough time has elapsed since she was pregnant for her to now appreciate how positively beautiful she looked.
I decided to play around with some of the photos with different filters etc to give them a bit of an arty feel. I was quite pleased with the overall effect. The front cover was mixed media, incorporating a photo of my SIL’s 8 1/2 month baby belly. Inside was a series of black and white photos in various poses mounted on black card. Very simple yet affective. On the last page I put just a photo of her torso and cut a little window in her belly so you could open the flap and see a photo of her baby inside…..very arty!! Of course I would like to show you but the photos are of a personal nature so you will just have to take my word for it.
And the product of that very large pregnancy belly……none other that the gorgeous little Abby Cate – pictured here with big sisters Hannah and Karlie.
How cute are they?
