Hello ‘shabbilicious’ friends,
It’s been awhile since I’ve given you a craft room update, so I thought I’d give you a few sneak peeks today.
I’m working on some bigger projects at the moment, so haven’t had a lot to share with you.
On my desk at the moment is this gorgeous set of shabby fabrics from the Ballet Rose Collection by Rachel Ashwell.
All 3 fabrics are being used in a larger project.
The roses are waiting to be hung up in the studio to dry out.
Also on my desk is part of my new button collection project, which is waiting for pattern instructions to be written…
And the very soft Tilda polar bear fur is another project nearing completion… I hope to have photos of that one for you on Monday.
The August issue of Simply Shabbilicious magazine is almost completed (ahead of time for once), and the big Christmas issue is underway. Yay!!
School holidays start here tomorrow, so the Resort will be busy again for a few weeks.
We’ve enjoyed the quieter month and although we haven’t been full of guests, we have kept busy with all those maintenance jobs that just never get done when we are fully booked.
In my down time I’ve been focusing on my word for the year ~ Balance.
I seem to have managed some how, in all the busyness to achieve the balance I’ve been searching for at long last.
I’ve ticked off lots of my goals for the year already and it feels great.
One of the bigger goals was getting fit and healthy… so I joined a gym, modified my diet and started making time for myself everyday.
The payoff has been worth it. I work out 4 days a week in the gym, walk morning and night on the beach and now feel fitter and healthier than I have in years.
The bonus is weight loss. I’m thrilled to be nearing 50 and back to a weight I had in my 20’s…. which is the correct weight for my height and build.
I’m walking at my two favorite times of the day… dawn and dusk and have the great joy of seeing beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day. Not to mention spotting whales and our local dolphin pods.
All this walking gives me time to clear my mind. That along with daily meditation, has restored the balance and peace to my life.
I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone in 2014 and started a course and joined a special interest group too. Both have resulted in broadening my friendships and I feel totally blessed to have met these amazing people I now call friends.
I think nurturing ones soul is a combination of things… and finding the balance is crucial.
Life is still crazy busy…. and it will continue that way, but at least I now have the balance restored.
See you tomorrow for Shabbilicious Friday.
Hugs ~ Kerryanne
Lovely photos Kerryanne and great to hear that you are now feeling that life is more balanced.

Everything looks so pretty. Those fabrics are gorgeous. I admire you for spending time on yourself ~ I’m trying to work on that as well!
first, congrats on your weight loss, kerryanne!! love the pretty fabrics and the button project look precious!
I think as women and as mothers, we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves and to find peace and balance in our lives. I am so happy to hear you are taking care of yourself, Kerryanne. I always get so inspired whenever I come to your blog.
Love,
Victoria
Oh Kerryanne, I”m so happy you’re finding balance and feeling fit these days. Good for you! You inspire me, especially with these projects you have up your sleeve. I love seeing peeks of them – gosh, that fabric is adorable and you know I always love a good Tilda project.
Enjoy those sunrises and sunsets my friend!
How wonderful that you have focused on balance with the result that you are accomplishing so much. That’s really great, Kerryanne.. Good that you’re taking time for walks and eating right. My hubby and I have been doing more of that, too. The fabrics and your projects are charming. See you tomorrow. ~ Nancy
What a wonderful post Kerryanne. Your photos are beautiful, and your projects look fabulous.
It sounds like you are managing to find just what you need in your life.
Congratulations
That fabric is just gorgeous. Finding “balance” is something I continually strive to do – I’m an “all in-er” so whatever I do I do it with gusto – which does not exactly mesh well with balance! Congrats on meeting your health goals!!
