Hello shabbilicious friends!
Try as I might to get my blogging schedule back on track, it’s been so hit and miss of late. I’ve got lots of exciting things happening right now, which has had me travelling all over the place… but hopefully I’ll be staying put for a few weeks now and can share some of my news with you.
Today I thought I’d share one of my latest creative projects with you…. it’s Miss Foxie.
She is so sweet and adorable!
Miss Foxie is actually a prototype. When I try new designs, I make them in miniature first. Mainly because smaller items are quick to make and should I need to make several prototypes of the same piece, I’m not wasting my creative materials.
The fox design is a scaled down version of a Tilda fox pattern.
I made it out of unbleached calico, stuffed, assembled and then decided to play around with some watercolour paint.
I like the subtle blending of colours and the character that evolved in the face.
Next, I gathered some older Tilda fabrics from my stash to make a dress.
These fabrics from the Country Escape collection are still my favourites.
Miss Foxie is even sweeter dressed in her mint green dress.
And now she fits in perfectly with my GreenGate collection too!
I’ve got a set of 3 full sized foxie ladies made and now I’m debating whether to paint them like a fox, tea stain the fabric or simply leave them in natural muslin.
What do you suggest?
I’ll pop back in on Friday to share the first of my newsy bits and bobs, so until then…
Happy crafting
♥
Kerryanne

Miss Foxie is adorable. I know just the little girl who would love her. Any thoughts on where to find cute fabrics like yours? I would enjoy seeing others in plain muslin fabric. Love all things hand made.
She is adorable. Is there going to be a pattern?
Oh Kerryanne, you are so talented, your little Miss Foxie is certainly foxie, love her little freckles. She is wonderful, wish I had better words to tell you how much I love her and admire you. The fact that you share so much with all of us is incredible when you have so much on your plate.
I printed out the heart/how to from last week, was telling clerk at Walmart in fabric dept.. .about it while I bought some adorable fabric to make it. Am going to print it out for her so she can enjoy your blog also. Gave her your name but messed up name of your blog. Having senior moment, so sorry.
Can hardly wait to see what you do with Miss Foxie. She’s already a star. Try to relax some ok? Think you’re pretty important person to me, most likely many other readers. Sure wish my hands and eyes worked better so I could make Miss Foxie some day.
Miss Foxy is darling… I love exactly how you did it,,, with the muslin and the black on the ends of her arms and feet… her face looks so REAL!! Darling little dress and love her bow and her ears are just precious. You are so talented and I so look forward to your posts.
Hello Kerryanne. Your foxie is magnifique!!!! You are très très talented! Hugs. Monika
I love the way she looks 🙂 A larger version would adorable too. Very realistic, yet whimsical 🙂 Iris,SavedbyGrace
Miss Foxy is so sweet, and your watercoloring on her adds so much to her character. Lake you for sharing her!
Miss Foxie looks beautiful, love the painting you have done , I do like tea staining though as well.
She’s lovely, I’d like to see a plain version for people who aren’t confident with painting. Sheila x
Hi Sheila,
Miss Foxie is just a teeny weeny Tilda fox, but I took her in a slightly different direction to the naive foxes by Tone Finnanger. You can see the unpainted version of the foxes on this post – https://www.shabbyartboutique.com/2017/03/foxie-ladies.html
You know me Sheila… I always have to put my own spin on a pattern 😉
One of each would be perfect. That way we ladies can pick our favorite and go from there. You are so talented, thank you for sharing your amazing work.
