Do you have a spot in your home that just doesn’t sing to you?
You know….
A spot that has all the elements you like, but just lacks that something ‘special’.
We had one of those spots on our upstairs landing.
It was just plain boring. . . [sigh]
As much as I’m loving our Scandinavian angled wood ceilings, they did present a bit of a problem in this loft area. With big angles, open spaces and a two storey wall of glass, anything I hung over the table looked. . . well, quite inadequate.
What I needed was a stand out piece that would make my shabby heart sing.
And I found that special something at Printism
I knew the area need an impressive sized artwork, but it had to be something that fitted with our vintage collection. . .
And I think this vintage travel poster is perfect.
It’s a poster of Mornington in Victoria. . . a place that is dear to us and invokes memories of sun filled days spent with our girls at Mills Beach, Mornington.
Now that we have our artwork hanging proudly in its place above the vintage vignette, I couldn’t be happier with the space.
So where do you go to buy artwork?
I’ve purchased from a variety of places in the past, but have to say that I was thrilled with the ease of buying from Printism.
To be honest, I’m often loath to recommend places or things. . . just in case someone else has a bad experience with it, but I have no hesitation in recommending this company.
There are just too many positives not to sing their praises.
Hubby and I spent a while looking though their online catalogue, but quickly got enthralled by their vintage travel poster collection. . . it was just perfect for us, but they have many other unique artworks in a variety of styles.
We liked that we were able to customise the artwork to suit our needs by choosing the size and the frame style and colour. Receiving the artwork already complete and ready to hang was an absolute bonus.
I couldn’t believe that within a week of viewing their catalogue and placing an order, I had my new artwork actually hanging on the wall.
It was an incredibly easy process to order and the preview pane allows you to see what your choices will look like before you commit to the order.
Hmm, let’s just say. . . . this is particularly good when you have a hubby who doesn’t visualise all that well.
Seriously. . .
If you are looking for your own piece of art that is worthy of a singing heart, check out Printism… they even send overseas!!
So now that we have our new vintage poster artwork hanging on the wall and my heart can sing every time I pass it, I can now move on to the more difficult part of this make-over project. . . what shade of white to paint the walls.
Pretty as a picture. Love your vintage vignette. You make it look oh so easy. I can hear your heart’s song on the breeze from my place. xo
lol… thanks Mary. I’m very happy with my choice and love looking at this artwork every time I climb the stairs.
Hugs,
Kerryanne

Kris
Thanks Kris. Adding the picture certainly added a little life back to that otherwise bland area on the landing.
Hugs.

the site has some fabulous prints– i love the size of your pretty picture, and it looks great in your landing, kerryanne:) awesome baggage under the table, too:)
They do have some really nice artworks Lynn. I’m very happy with my new piece and it certainly brightens that boring spot on the landing. Those suitcases were collected by my hubby. He has a bit of a thing for old leather cases and bags.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
The area looks lovely Kerryanne. Of course I am some what biased about the print. I live in Mornington and love the print.
Have a good weekend.

You are very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world Kelly. I fell in love with the poster the moment I saw it and knew we had to have it to remember those beach days of long ago. Wish they had one with the bathing boxes in it too. How gorgeous would that have been!!
