As a designer, the question I probably get asked most often is “where do I get my inspiration from?’. . . and I know I’ve addressed this question here many times before.
To be honest with you, inspiration is an ever changing thing. The smallest snippets from life can instigate a whole new love affair. . . be it something from nature, a piece of fabric or a colour combination. . . almost anything can spark a new creative mind set.
Right now I’m loving the amazing colour combinations from Green Gate.
I love the combinations of colours. . .
and the mix of spots, stipes, florals and checks.
It’s oh so shabby and very chic!
When I showed a photo of Green Gate wares on my Facebook page there was a huge response and a debate about which was best – Green Gate or Cath Kidston.
Just for the record, I adore both brands. . . but I think my heart swells just a teensy bit more for Green Gate.
So I guess it is not surprising then, that when I sat down to draft some new designs this past few days my colour palette contained some familiar pinks, reds, blues and greens. . . plus florals, polka dots and stripes. For those of you who love all that is French and vintage, do not despair. . . this Green Gate love affair may have spurred a fleeting moment of lustful creativity, but I’m sure by the weeks end I will have returned to my chippy white ways again!
I’d love to know what inspires you. Do you keep a creativity diary or inspiration board? What about Pinterest. . . are you perhaps a pinner?
I look forward to reading your comments about what inspires you. . . and I’d especially love to hear from a few ‘lurkers’. . . yes YOU, I know you are out there!!

Hi Kerryanne. I just love all those Green Gate goodies. I looked up their website and there is a stockist in the next suburb to me! I’ll have to try to get to the store and check it out in person!
What a lovely range of goodies.
What inspires me? Well, I don’t ‘pin’, ‘tweet’ or ‘FB’ but I do ‘blop’ (Blog hop) and I love seeing the fabulous creations that folk come up with. Problem is, too much blopping leaves very little time to put the inspiration to use LOL
Have a great week Kerryanne.

I like both too… but probably Cath Kidston just a smidge more… but I also like Pip Studio…:O)
Honestly, YOU inspire me! I look at what you create and am in awe. It always puts a smile on my face to visit your site or see your post in my email. I don’t often comment, so I guess I am a “lurker” , but you make my days better, so thank you!
I love Greengate! You are going to love my post I did today…which I will be linking to you on Friday..creative minds think alike.
Kindredly, Lynnie
Love your flowered items. I get inspiration just by looking at something. Never the same inspiration twice though. Or not that I note. It’s like a flag goes up that says look what you can make with me. LOL
Oh….you have inspired me, too! I love the color combinations and the brilliant patterns! Thanks for the wonderful photos today.
Have a wonderful day!
blessings,
karianne
The blues are really lovely.
