I like originality and one-of-a-kind, so making my own jewellery really appeals to me.
It’s something I’ve dabbled in for awhile….
But I’ve never shared it here before.
I’ve made a few pieces for other people incorporating vintage items that are special to them.
Every piece is very unique.
I start with a few elements… a basic colour scheme…
And then the piece just takes on a life of its own.
This is a fun way to up-cycle found or vintage items…
Like repurposing a vintage rhinestone brooch as a necklace… using door hardware, old coins, printed ephemera etc.
Have you ever made your own jewellery?
It’s not as difficult as you may think… plus there are lots of video tutorials online.
In my next post I’ll share with you how I’ve made the satin peonies that have been on my blog this past few posts.
Happy crafting – Kerryanne

Thank you Gigi… that’s so lovely of you. I think I will share a few more pieces, as they are all quite different. 🙂

Your peony is very pretty…and your jewelry very charming! The eclectic, vintage look is my favorite! I made a heart necklace from a piece of old barn tin and beads.. My grand daughter liked it and so I gave it to her. I hope your day is wonderful!

Thank you Tamara. It’s a sweet thing when we can give something we’ve made to a loved one. I bet your granddaughter cherishes her heart necklace 🙂

Your style of jewelry suits me to a “t”, love the aura surrounding it. It’s amazing how many people really look at what you wear and will comment nicely about piece. . I’ve made a few necklaces, quite vintage looking with long chains, my favorites. I Have some blank pieces to insert an image but so far have been too remiss in using them and spending my time making things myself and others could enjoy. Hopefully your post will inspire me to work on some of ideas have had for some time. It seems there aren’t even enuf hours in day for somebody that should have lots of time. It’s hard for me to stop in middle of one project to work on another. I seem to get stalled when it’s time to do some needed house work, drat.
Love your blog, have since I found it and other outstanding blogs at least two years ago, my life changed so much. Never been as creative as I am now. Happy week and hope you’re having a glorious Spring.

Hi Jane, I’m on the other side of the world, so we are now in Autumn, but lovely just the same. I’ve noticed too that people comment often when you are wearing unique handmade jewellery. It’s nice to have something a little different to everyone else too. Glad to hear that you’ve found your crafting mojo!! Enjoy 🙂

Beautiful pieces Kerryanne.
I love finding things in charity shops that I can de-construct and use is always fun. The only problem I have is finding the time to sit down and actually use many of the pieces…so many pieces…so many ideas…SO not enough time LOL
Have a wonderful day.
Toni xx

Ahh Toni…. the bane of our lives… never enough time [sigh]. We all need some of that I think!! Yes, deconstruction is fun.

These are beautiful – love the way you combined the tones and textures and they look delightful on the charming angel. I’ve dabbled in jewelry – hand painted pendants mostly but still have lots to learn. I’ll be back for your post on the charming satin peonies

This one in particular Christina does incorporate varying textures. It definitely looks better on… should have taken a selfie! My Peonie post is up now, so I hope you’ll pop back soon 🙂

The jewelry is right up my alley! Good job putting all the kindred elements together. I also design jewelry from odds and ends, vintage, or found objects. I now have a shop on Etsy since I am so obsessed with making jewelry (jmarieofatlanta). But, as another reader shared, so many ideas, so little time! Keep it going girl! Would love to see more.

Thanks Janice. I love how every piece can be so different to the last one. Popping over now to check out your Etsy store 🙂
