Everyone needs some time out occasionally and what better way to get it than an outing with the girlfriends. This afternoon two of my gal pals, Vikki and Anne picked me up and took me for a wonderful afternoon in trendy Armadale. First stop was the delightful Rock Paper Scissors which is a very upmarket scrapbook shop full to overflowing with exotic papers, embellishments and inspirational projects. Unfortunately the proprietor wouldn’t let us take any photos but I will show you the gorgeous papers I purchases in another post.
Next we secured a sidewalk table at a street cafe where we watched the world go by. What a perfect afternoon we had sipping our lattes, chatting and laughing.
Vikki has just started her own blog and is in the process of producing her own pattern packet range for her beautiful original sewing projects. She is definitely a talented designer to keep an eye on. Please pay her a visit at Sew Useful Designs and welcome her to blogland.
Another newcomer to blogland is Anna at Anna Rosa Designs. Anna is a folk and decorative artist who has just recently discovered the joys of patchwork and is enjoying this new medium. Anna is very new to blogging so I’m sure she too would enjoy some friendly visitors.
Did the earth move for you?
Today’s talk around Melbourne was the 4.6 on the Richter Scale Earthquake that rocked Victoria last night. Millions of Victorians felt the quake just after 9pm, with many waking to cracked walls and broken windows this morning. My children both in different parts of the house at the time, felt it but I somehow missed it. Clearly, the earth did not move for me!!! There were a lot of frightened people today and any wonder – in recent times our state has endured drought, heatwave, tragic bush fires and now an earthquake. Mother nature can be pretty scary some times. Hopefully the remainder of the year will be uneventful….LOL
Have a great weekend.
Hugs ~ Kerryanne

Hey Kerryanne! It must have been ‘Girls Day Out’ weekend this weekend – mine starts on Fridays after all cos I don’t have to work! What good looking friends you have – and wonderful that they could help you escape the house for a while. What more could you want – driven around, taken to a fun craft supplies shop and then watching the world go by whilst sipping coffee!! PERFECT! Kind of glad your world wasn’t rocked – it’s been uncertain enough in recent days! Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Hi Kerryanne,
I am so glad you had a wonderful outing with your friends, this is what life is really about love, laughter & happiness. That scrapbook place sounds interesting, it’s something that I now find quite fasinating.
Wow a 4.6 earthquake, what next! I remember when we had an earth tremmor here, quite a strange sensation.

What a lovely day out Kerryanne! Lattes and laughing sounds great 🙂
YES I definitely felt the earth move! I nearly wet my pants with fright, lol! I didn’t have the tv on so the house was quiet and suddenly the china and glasses started clinking and rattling in the dining room, just like they do on the movies, lol! That’s actually the third earthquake i’ve felt here in Melbourne in the last 10 or so years. I seem to be able to feel every single one when they happen, lucky me!

Yes, who doesn’t love a girl’s day out! It has been so long since I have enjoyed one of those!
Never really felt an earthquake in this corner of the world…one very tiny one once…and that was enough for the entire neighborhood to congregate outside scratching our heads!
