Once upon a time there was a beautiful Princess. . . who moved to a magical far away kingdom.
Isn’t that how all the best fairy tales begin?
Before the Princess moved to the far away kingdom she asked the Fairy Godmother to make her a new bedroom for when she visited the Palace.
So the Fairy Godmother followed the brief. . .
The Princess Room should be pretty and white. . . perhaps a little bit shabby. . . and nostalgic too.
The Fairy Godmother started transforming the white room with paint and furnishings, beautiful linens and touches of whimsy.
Knowing that the Princess loved time worn elegance, the Fairy Godmother picked up a bargain priced thrifted dressing table too.
It was neglected, stained and yellowing. . . but it had great potential.
What the white Princess room needed now was a ‘pop’ of colour. . .
So a good clean and a few coats of aqua paint transformed this ugly duckling into a dressing table fit for a Princess.
With the added charm of a few collectibles. . .
And fresh flowers, the aqua dressing table fits the room perfectly.
There’s still a few crafting projects to be done to get the room finished. . .
[curtains, cushions, lamp shades to name a few]
But with a little hard work and a sprinkle of fairy dust. . .
The ‘Princess Room’ should be completed in time for the Princesses return to the palace this weekend.
This Fairy Godmother is sharing her aqua dressing table transformation at this week’s link parties and with these friends: French Country Cottage, Blissful Whites Wednesday, The Vintage Farmhouse, 36th Avenue, Clean and Scentsible, Live Laugh Rowe, The DIY Dreamer, Tutorials, Tips & Tidbits – Stone Gable, Transformation Thursday, Be Inspired Friday at Common Ground.
