During a recent craft room clean up, I found a box of goodies that was left over from when I was doing markets a couple of years ago.
There were just a few pieces… like this little French sign.
These were always good sellers and so perfect to pop in amongst a pretty shabby vignette.
I always quite liked this graphic with its mix of pink and blue, so I went looking for it so I could make some cards….
I thought you may like this too!!
DIY French Signs
The little French signs are 15 cm x 10 cm.
I cut 3 mm MDF into 15 cm x 10 cm blanks to make my signs, but you could use balsa wood, paper mache blanks or even heavy cardboard.
The back and sides of the sign were painted with white paint.
I print the graphics onto matt photo paper using my printer, set on photo printing.
Use Mod Podge to adhere the graphic to the sign surface… always cut the graphic a little larger than your piece.
For best adhesion results, apply Mod Podge to both the sign surface and the back of the graphic. This allows you to move the graphic into position. I also use a squeegee to push out any air bubbles and to obtain a completely smooth surface.
When thoroughly dry, use a nail file to sand off any excess paper around the edges.
Drill two small holes in the top of the sign and insert wire to make a hanger. Twist wire to secure and cut off any excess. A pretty ribbon bow tied to the hanger will add a little more shabbiliciousness too.

I’ve just made some pretty cards using this graphic… but you could use it for all kinds of crafts.
What about printing on fabric to make a label, or make gift tags, use in scrapbooking projects etc.
Happy crafting
