Hello ‘shabbilicious’ friends,
We are just 2 weeks out from Christmas and the mood is definitely feeling very ‘merry’ in our home.
From the twinkling lights….. to candy canes and whimsical Christmas characters, there’s Christmas spirit everywhere I look. Would you like a quick peek?
Our whole house is decorated, but I think I get the most joy from the living room, which for us is the heart of our home.
I suspect you’ve already guessed that I didn’t choose the colour scheme….
My daughter decided we were having red and white in all the living areas. I’ve tried to mix it in with all my neutrals…. because I’m not sure this shabby gal could cope with full on red everywhere I look.
The gorgeous Victorian Santa Claus Book (shown below) was a precious gift from the author, Vicky Howard of Art Design Joy blog.
Vicky was a contributor in the latest Christmas issue of my Simply Shabbilicious magazine where she shared her adorable Vintage Santa project.
I was so excited to receive a copy of Vicky’s book, which is filled with something close to my heart… Victorian images. There was another gorgeous surprise tucked into the back cover as well…. several real vintage postcards. Thank you Vicky!!
If you’d like to find out more about Vicky’s book, here’s an aff link to The Book of Santa Claus on Amazon.
Looking back at the photos I snapped, I realised our living room is filled with handmade whimsy…
3 fabric Tilda Reindeers… (pattern book here)
….a troupe of recently made Christmas Pixies (free pattern here)
A Skating Tilda Angel doll (pattern book here)….
…. and a collection of Sugared Gingers hanging out in the kitchen (free pattern here).
No wonder I’m enjoying the living room so much… it’s got the handmade touch I adore!!
Did you see my shabby Christmas in the craft room tour?
There’s no red to be found in there!

Just beautiful Kerryanne. Love all the pretty red and white and whimsy. I bet you are smiling with how pretty and cute this room came out. Just beautiful. Enjoy the new week.
Hugs,
Kris

Ahh Kris, you are a shabby white loving girl too, so you know the challenge of embracing so much red, but it has grown on me and does feel very Christmassy!!
Definitely enjoying these last days of the season. Wishing you and your family all the joys of the season too xxx

Hi KerryAnne, I think your home is beautiful, warm and inviting no matter what color it would be just for the simple fact that you live there.. But I am with you about the full on red in all the rooms. It was lovely to see your craft room because that is YOU. But I know you will have a lovely and beautiful Christmas no matter what the color. Bless you, Hugs, JoeyAnn

What a sweet comment JoeyAnn… thank you my friend. My craft room is definitely my ‘happy place’ and reflects my true loves, but alas, I share my home with others who undoubtedly get more than their fair share of ‘shabbilicious’. My poor husband has put up with a lot of girly stuff over the years, bless him 😉
Thanks for visiting JoeyAnn xx

Hi Kerryanne,
What a treat it is to take a tour of your beautiful home decorated for the holidays! The rooms are overflowing with your creativity and the magic of the season! And what a joy it is to see my Santa Claus book as a little part of your Christmas celebration.
Thanks for sharing all your wonderful designs that make a lovely handmade Christmas!
May your days be merry and bright, and filled with shabbilicious delights!
Cheers,
Vicky

Vicky, I truly, truly love your book and it fits perfectly on a gold easel I had. It was such a thoughtful and perfect gift my friend. Yes my house tends to overflow with handmade goodies – lol. It was only when I was taking photos that it struck me that every frame had something handmade in it. Definitely enjoying a more relaxed Christmas this year. Sending you all the joys of the season xx

Your home looks lovely and the touches of red are very pretty. But I’m like you; I only want touches of red! I love all your handmade items–so beautifully made! I’m working on my stuffing skills which are still quite primitive. Have a lovely holiday, my friend!
Kerryanne says
Thank you Linda. Ahh yes, stuffing… it’s quite an art form really. Pack it nice and tight and you’ll be right!! Merry Christmas lovely lady xx

I love your daughters choice of colours with your choice of neutral blended in. Your home looks beautiful thank you for sharing it ???
Kerryanne says
I think it was a happy compromise Pam. I never had so much red on the tree before, but it’s grown on me… especially when I know it is only for a month or so. Back to neutrals and pastels in a couple of weeks, but boy I’ll miss the fairy lights. Merry Christmas xx

Hi Kerryanne,
Your house looks gorgeous decked in its Christmas red and neutrals. It’s nice to be forced into a change sometimes. Your personality and sense of decor still shine through beautifully. I love fairy lights, too!
Enjoy your Christmas,

I’m in love with your pixies and reindeers! I’ve sewn lots of things, but never anything this small, but I’m tempted to give it a try so I can have some. So adorable!

Ahhhh honey! Your home looks beautiful!!! Wish I could pop in for a Christmas cuppa and catchup – how good would that be?! Love the red, and the shabby, and the home-made, and the everything!! Illness has thrown me off track this year but I’ll make up for it in the coming school holidays – may even start some early Christmas crafting then!! 😉 Love you precious friend! Now i’m going to download your pixie and gingie patterns and add them to my to-do list!! Thank you sweetie! Vikki xoxoxo
Kerryanne says
That would be the best Christmas gift ever Vik ♥
Wish you were here to play in my craft room. Hopefully 2019 will bless you with good health and a fresh start on creativity.
