Hello ‘shabbilicious’ friends,
I’ve been keeping a fairly low profile this past week, while feeling a little under the weather… and spent my days sipping hot honey and lemon drinks and keeping my hands busy in the craft room.
It turns out that being surrounded by fabric scraps and crafting supplies is a pretty good tonic!!
One positive to come out of this week was a fantastic tip I received in our Simply Shabbilicious Facebook group to help with coughing. Quite a few ladies suggested pineapple juice, which I tried and it was the only remedy that seemed to work after a week of constant coughing. I’ll be sure to remember this one for next time.
For this project, I took a piece from my art journal and reproduced it on fabric with watercolours and pen.
It’s a positive self-care affirmation that was perfect for me this week.
Inspired by my fabric scraps, I created a simple faux fabric patchwork in an embroidery hoop….
Added some slow sewing stitching…
And then finished off with a few pretty embellishments.
It’s simple and speaks to me… which is exactly what one’s own artwork should do.
I’ve added this faux patchwork embroidery hoop to my sewing corner wall…. the collection is slowly growing.
My sewing corner of the craft room is super neat at the moment, which is so nice, but my large craft table in the centre of the room is covered with a huge mess crafting gorgeousness.
What’s a little mess when you are having fun!
In other Boutique news, this months Handmade Club has been the busiest yet and there’s only one week left to pick it up. The new kit will be released on September 15th.
Happy crafting my friends!!
Hugs
