Hello shabbilicious friends!!
February is the month of love and romance… and not just for Valentines.
It’s also the perfect time to celebrate our girlfriends with Galentine’s Day on 13th February…. and what about just enjoying some self love after the holiday rush. Don’t we all deserve it!
This season of LOVE is reflected in my craft room decor this month with a gorgeous colour palette of cherry red, pink and white. How could I not be happy when surrounded with all these pretties.
Another reason to be happy…. it’s raining here in Australia and we were so desperate for rain to end our drought and help with the bushfires. Unfortunately, the rain has been torrential and now we are facing floods in many parts of Australia… but better to have too much rain than none I guess.
Here where I live in Queensland, it is currently hot, humid and stormy outside…. but let’s ignore the gloomy day and grab a coffee and sit down for a chat.
First, let’s talk about the pretties in my craft room this month.
If you like what you see, many of these projects have free tutorials here on Shabby Art Boutique:
The LOVE banner on my memo board is something that I made for myself and it is not offered on Shabby Art Boutique.
I’m working on some changes for Shabby Art Boutique this month. Along with a general tidy up, some new graphics and a fresh colour palette will be appearing on my blog throughout February.
Also, I’m working on new designs using both fabric and paper for my Etsy store, as I’ve decided to concentrate on selling on Etsy this year instead of Society6.
Sadly, this is because copyright breech is a constant and ongoing problem, which stems mainly from the items I’ve been selling on Society6. There are several third party websites that are renowned for violating artists copyright and I’m fed up with the emotional stress and the time wasted fighting for ‘Take Downs’ on these websites.
BUT…. it’s not all bad. These issues and the success of the Handmade Club have steered me in a new unexpected direction… one, which I’m embracing in 2020!!
I’m back in the craft room this week working on new fabric crafts and patterns…
One of them is a handmade item I shared with you some time ago, but I didn’t create a pattern to share at the time. It’s one of my most asked for items, so I suspect there will be a few happy people when I share this free softie pattern in the coming weeks.
I hope you’ve enjoyed our chat and quick look around my LOVE filled craft room in February.
What are you making this month?

Hi Kerryanne!
It been raining and raining here too.
I finally took a break from sewing for the baby who is due to arrive in literally hours, (the mom has been in the hospital since yesterday morning.)
I’m now going to be finishing up the dorm quilt for my granddaughter who will graduate a year early from high school in May and be going to a University in the fall.
Then I need to start on the King size quilt for my son and his girl for their wedding May 2!
I’ve been watching junk journal videos again, trying to get inspired to use the massive collections of paper I have!
Best wishes for your new endeavors this year!

That is absolutely too bad about Society 6 and copyright stealers. May your Etsy ventures be happy and trouble free! I’m looking forward to seeing your upcoming creations, and super-excited about the possibilities with fabric!

Sorry. I seem to have difficulty storing your access code somewhere safe where I can always find it.
