I’ve always loved Victorian and vintage postcards and the art of that era.
And I know that many of my readers love it too.
So, I was thrilled when I stumbled across a beautiful set of vintage Christmas postcards earlier this year…. and I’ve been sitting on them ever since, patiently waiting for Christmas to roll around.
These sweet ink and watercolour postcards were titled ‘Joyous Children’ and were first released on 24th December 1914.
They were sold as a set of ten postcards, but sadly I only have nine of them.
The postcards each measure 14 cm x 8.93 cm (5.4” x 3.5”).
Today I have the four landscape postcards for you to download and next week I’ll share the five portrait postcards.
How to use vintage postcards
The size of these postcards makes them perfect for a multitude of projects.
Here’s just a few ideas:
- Print them on card and use as greeting cards or gift tags
- Hang them as a decoration on a vintage inspired Christmas tree
- Use in Christmas junk journals or planners
- Make them into place cards for your Christmas table.
Do you have any ideas on how you could use them?

A Mini Christmas Novel/Story- build a story around each of the postcards including each of the postcards somewhere within each section of the story. Sometime during the holidays, it might be fun to pass around each postcard and have each person add to the story.
