Remember last week when I told you about my ‘Australian Pickers’ expedition. . . well, I scored some pretty good finds that day, some of which I showed you back here.
I was delighted to pick up this stool/table. . . not sure what it is but it is sturdy enough to be used as either. . . anyhoosies, my picker buddy Miss Meli was sent in to the rubble to retrieve it for me when I spied it hiding under and behind lots of other ‘junk’. . . thank you Meli ♥
I knew instantly this ‘what-ever-it-is’ was something special and unique. She stands 48cm high with a 33 cm wide chunky top. The insert which was covered in green fabric was removed and stripped. Underneath that fabric was an excellent piece of timber, so I decided to paint it rather than re-cover it.
For those of you who follow my journey on Facebook, you’ll already recognise this little stool.
I asked your advice on whether to stick with my shabby white theme or go with a black industrial look. . . shabby white was the all round winner!
So she got several coats of antique white paint. . . some distressing and flyspecking. . . and finished with a good sanding.
Initially I was planning a French themed clock face for the insert. . .
but after looking at it for awhile my heart screamed soft shabby white roses.
What do you think?
I’m partying here with these great gals this week. . . pop by and check out all the delights.

What do I think? I think it’s beautiful! I’m glad you listened when it shouted out for roses.
Perfect!
Those roses are stunning and just the right finishing touch for this lovely little piece.
I’m sure you would have made a wonderful job of it in industrial black but this shabby white is just beautiful and certainly gets my vote.
