Okay guess what I am doing today……..yep, making cakes.
I do really enjoy making my faux cakes but right now I have the biggest box of vintage finds found on my last treasure hunt that I am dying to start cleaning up and transforming. That won’t happen I’m afraid until later in the week when I have cleared some of these cake orders. Today it is more of these cute cupcakes and Christmas puddings. The pink flowers are new so at the moment the white cakes with these pink roses are my fave.
They’re cuties Kerryanne! I have those same flowers too! Great size aren’t they
Thanks Natasha. Don’t you wish they were avaialble in more colours – I’d like some more pastel ones.
Hi Kerryanne,
Thanks for visiting me, my vocab is sometimes one word ‘weird’! 🙂 but glad to learn you could relate. I’ll have to learn the technique of slowly adding more pink into the house 😉 By the way I have to say your blog is BEAUTIFUL. Love it , love your pretty faux cakes… looks deliciously inviting. Well you take care now and I’ve added you to my blog roll too.
Ta for now,
Adla
Hi Kerryanne,

Hi Kerryanne,
I have never seen cakes like these. What are they made of?
Hi Charmaine,
My shabby cakes are not like any others you will find available. That is because they are actually baked like real cakes. The ingredients are ‘top secret’ and causing a lot of interest naturally.
I worked on the recipe for some time to perfect it before embarking on this venture. I CAN tell you that the main ingredient is recycled paper that has been preserved. My icing mixture unlike other cakes is not plaster based. I worked with a chemist to
come up with an icing that resembles and can be worked with like real icing, but my cakes contain no food ingredients at all. They are very light weight
so cheap to post and can be wiped down with a damp cloth should they become dusty. These items are for decorative use only and not recommended for children to play with as a toy.
I’m sorry that I can’t tell you more but my shabby faux cakes are covered by copyright, as is my ‘top secret’ recipe.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
I added you to my list of “If blogs were in heaven….”
Thanks Kerryanne, they certainly do look real.
Hi Kerryanne! I’m on your Woodberry Design newsletter list so found your blog link there. Your blog is beautiful and those faux cupcakes are a sheer delight to the eyes. 🙂
Hi Serena,
Thanks for visiting my new blog. I checked out your artwork and you are a fabulous realism artist.
