Welcome friends!
Today I am presenting the next instalment of our “A Year of Vintage Postcards” project.
Have you been collecting the postcards each month?
If you are new to this year long project, we are creating a collection of vintage postcards. Every month I will be providing two vintage postcard printables to add to your collection. Each postcard measures 9 cm x 14 cm (3.5” x 5.5”) and has both a front and back image.
For my own project, I’m creating a flip book filled with these gorgeous vintage postcards from the 1800’s. The back of the postcards have a blank space that can be used to document events, information or simply to diarize your journey each month…… so essentially it’s a flip journal.
April Postcard Printables
As we move on to April, we embrace the gorgeousness of a vintage Easter.
The first postcard is a religious card depicting three angel heads under a star, which was first released in April 1917.
I chose to edge my card with lace and ric–rac and added a sprinkling of glass glitter around the angels.
For a lot of my readers, Easter coincides with spring, so I chose a brighter spring themed postcard for the second printable postcard.
The postcard title is; A HAPPY EASTER girl drives egg-cart pulled by two lambs. This postcard originated in Germany in 1907.
The artwork on this postcard was actually in pretty good condition and only require a little bit of digital repair.
As a bonus this month, I included two smaller tags; a pale pink gingham tag and a circle tag that I created from a vintage image.
For my flip book, I combined these two tags into one and added a pink bow and a yellow button. I love the spring like feel of this dimensional tag… and who doesn’t love vintage chicks!!
Download the April Printables
The April postcard printable is a two page PDF file, available in both A4 and letter size.
It is best printed on light card or 250 gram matte photo paper (which is what I used).

Thank you for these lovely postcards. It’s my birthday today and thank you for the postcard presents.
Because of my age, 70, I have been totally isolated and not been out of my home for 5 weeks, but connected to my family by phone and FaceTime, and also by lovely people like you who reach out to us with your blog and newsletters. Thank you so much for thinking of us.
