You probably know by now that I like making all sorts of journals…
Whether that be art journals, travel journals or junk journals.
I thoroughly enjoy the process of creating these journals and once finished, I have a place to store my artwork, doodles, thoughts and dreams etc.
This week I created this pretty blue and mauve French vintage farmhouse journal using the Janaury kit from the Handmade Club.
I combined the papers from the kit with a few coffee stained papers from my stash.
This pretty journal has 3 signatures that contain a total of 24 pages.
I love how soft and romantic the cover design turned out. To keep the journal closed I’ve used a length of pale blue seam binding.
If you like the cover papers, I’ve just added them as a PDF to the Club kit as a bonus printable, so Handmade Club members are welcome to download it from the folder.
The inside pages are a collection of beautiful vintage French receipts, blue and mauve papers, and coffee dyed papers.
I’ve added lots of pockets to store the tags and journaling cards contained in the kit this month…
Plus, there are all sorts of pretty embellishments made with titbits from my crafting stash.
As I’m going to use this journal for a trip I have planned, I’ve left lots of blank pages to write on.
The finished journal measures 16 cm wide x 22 cm high and will fit easily into my carry bag.
Have you ever made your own journals?
I love that you can make them any size you like…. in fact, I think my next one will be a tiny mini journal… just for fun!
What would you use this journal for?

Oh Kerryanne you’ve done such a beautiful job on this new journal, and you will have so much pleasure using it for your trip! Making journals is my new passion this year too and I’m currently working on 4 small journals in a series I’m calling “Fairies in my Garden”. And like I mentioned to you a little while ago my next journal is going to be Lavender themed, so your January kit is absolutely perfect for the basis of that one. Lorraine x

The journal is just beautiful! I don’t make journals for some reason.. don’t know why. I make mini photo albums and mini pocket albums. I’ve tried keeping journals and diaries before and I just never seem to keep it up.. instead I have notes to myself laying everywhere! I’ve tried planners for the last couple of years and those don’t work either! I love looking at yours though.. and the papers and bits and pieces you created are just wonderful and fun. Thanks so much for sharing! Marilyn

Kerryanne, beautiful and amazing as ever. You do such a good job with the Handmade club, I am happy that I subscribe.
Just a question if that is ok, what printer do you use for the excellent quality prints you get. I struggle with mine sometimes.
Keep us the great work and congratulations on such a great job with this Journal. Amanda

Although I am not a journaler, I just loved the lovely pastels and bits and bobs you used. I smiled when I saw the bit of lace sticking out like a marker! I get many compliments on cards I make using pictures from flower catalogs and magazines, rubber stamps, and lace/ribbon/string, and standard scrapbooking supplies. But your journal is really artistic. About the only “notebook” I keep is a list of what I have bought for whom for Christmas!

What a beautiful journal! I love the soft look and colors – definitely perfect for the upcoming Spring. I used to journal every day, and even got into hand lettering and doodling, but sadly, life threw some curve balls my way, and I haven’t gotten back into the swing of things yet.

That is so pretty and has so much character. This would make a beautiful gift!
