Handmade Vintage Angel Christmas Ornament

Making handmade Christmas ornaments is like adding a little bit of your heart to the Christmas tree…

And I like being able to make something that is original, one-of-a-kind and uniquely ‘me’.

Handmade Christmas ornaments also make great gift tags too, so this is a project that does double duty!

Here’s a sweet little vintage angel graphic I made to add a vintage look to your Christmas decor.

How to make a Vintage Angel Christmas Ornament

Materials

Free printable Vintage Christmas Angel graphic to download from Shabby Art Boutique

Instructions

1. Download the free graphic and print onto matt photo paper. Using the foam brush and the decoupage paste, adhere the graphic to light cardboard and leave to dry flat .

2. Using a sharp knife, cut out the ornament shape. The back of the ornament can be finished with another angel print, pretty scrapbook card or by painting it.

3. Apply a little white glue (decoupage paste) to the bottom of the ornament shape and sprinkle with German Glass Glitter. Shake off excess glitter and lay flat to dry.

4. Make a small hole in the top of the ornament using a hole punch.

5. Use crinkled bias tape to make a hanger and bow for your ornament. A pretty rhinestone button finishes off your ornament and adds a little extra pizzazz.

Note: I have a tutorial on how to dye and crinkle your seam binding ribbon for vintage projects.

This is a quick and easy ornament to make, especially if you are making several at once.

I left the back of my angel ornaments blank, so I could use them as gift tags.
