While love letters may be a thing of the past, the humble love note is still a ‘thing’ for many couples.
Don’t you agree that there’s something magical about receiving a handwritten note from your lover?
I’ve been married almost 30 years and my hubby still surprises me with the occasional heartfelt love note tucked under my pillow or in my hand bag.
Do you send and/or receive love notes?
If you do, maybe you’ll enjoy making this Valentine tag, with it’s handy pocket that is the perfect place to stash a surprise love note.
[PIN for later]
This tag was inspired by these beautiful Victorian cherubs. I’ve been hanging onto them for awhile now just waiting for the perfect project to come up,
I thought love notes and cherubs were the perfect combination for this sweet project.
How to make a Valentine Pocket Tag
Everything you need to create this tag is in a handy printable two page PDF.
Download the printable PDF, which is available in the newsletter subscribers free Member’s Library.

The finished tag measures 11 cm wide x 21 cm high and is large enough to hang from a door handle or tuck into a Valentine vignette.
Step 1: Print your project on 250 gram matte photo paper or light card. Cut out all of your elements using a sharp scalpel knife and a metal ruler (for the straight edges).
I used a distressing tool to rough up the edges of my bingo card before sewing it onto the backing tag.
Next I sewed around the sides and base of the bingo card with a zig-zag stitch. Remember to leave the top of the bingo card open to form the pocket. I also added a layer of gathered chiffon ribbon to the base of the tag, while I was sewing the bingo card down.
Step 2: Using a clear craft glue, I added the flowers and tickets to the bottom of the bingo tag, along with some lace scraps to add a little texture.
I used a thick double sided tape on the back of the cherubs, so they could sit up over the top of the other elements on the tag.
Step 3: Add a sprinkling of pretty blush sequins….
Plus, a ribbon and bow at the top of the tag.
I also added in a little rhinestone diamante for an extra dash of romance!
Now your Valentine Pocket tag is ready to receive its first love note.
I hope my sweet cherubs and Valentine bingo card inspires you to create something gorgeous for Valentine’s Day.
Happy crafting my friends!
Hugs
♥

I called the kit a kite in my comment, so sorry, although it would look beautiful as a kite. LOL

Such a lovely kit to make a special Valentine card??? Thank you SO much Kerryanne??? I was almost a Valentine…my birthday is the day before on the 13th. I’ve always loved Valentines Day…in school I loved making/decorating the beautiful valentine boxes and exchanging cards with classmates…I think that might date me? Anyway, thank you for this lovely kit? Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your loved ones Kerryanne??? Smiles, Deborah ???

Hi Kerryanne, I can’t seem to download the Valentines print. I have even put in the password but it refuses to recognise me. Do you know what is the matter. I am not having any trouble with others.
Kerryanne says
Hi Judy, I suspect you may be using the old password. The new password is written on the bottom of the newsletter you received today. It is case sensitive, so must be written exactly as you see it. Always a good idea to copy and paste the password to ensure accuracy.
I hope you enjoy this project. Happy crafting ~ Kerryanne

When I clicked on the link to the vintage postcards, I got the Valentine tag again. I did not see the postcards for this month in the members only part either. I would love to continue with the postcards. Thanks for all you do. Nancy

They are available directly from the post and free for everyone to download.
