Hi creative friends,
August has arrived in the Craft Room, bringing with it our beautiful new digital collection, Swanmere Estate.
This romantic collection takes us to an elegant old estate filled with graceful swans, vintage ladies, beautiful florals and charming details inspired by another era.
With its soft, muted palette and touches of faded plum and mauve, Swanmere Estate has a wonderfully dreamy, timeless feel.
Here’s a sneak peek at the new collection, so you can take a little wander through the estate with me.
And our talented Design Team certainly wasted no time getting creative!
In just the first week, they’ve already shared 11 beautiful projects, each interpreting Swanmere Estate in their own unique style. There’s lots of inspiration to enjoy, so let’s take a closer look.
Nicola ~ Shabby Journals Crafts & More
Oh my goodness… Nicola has created the most incredible Swanmere Estate diorama!
Her impressive 3D manor house features varying rooflines and turrets, with beautiful gardens and statues welcoming visitors at the front. There are so many wonderful architectural details to discover, and Nicola has truly brought the grand old estate to life.
Nicola’s talent for creating elaborate 3D dioramas never ceases to amaze me, and this beautiful interpretation of Swanmere Estate is certainly something very special.

Sandra ~ Atelier Vintage Rose
Sandra’s first project for August is the prettiest little doily book in a tin can.
She used small round vintage doilies that she picked up on her recent European travels as the base for her pages, then decorated them with fussy cuts from the Swanmere Estate collection.
Layers of lace, ribbons and flowers add Sandra’s signature romantic vintage style.

She has also made her monthly storage envelope, which she creates from each month’s kit to keep all of those leftover fussy cuts safely tucked away for future projects. Such a lovely and practical idea!
Sandra has also very kindly prepared our Craft Room Prompt for August.
This month, she is sharing how she created a beautiful masterboard by layering patches of paper together before taking it to her sewing machine and quilting over the top.
It’s such a creative way to combine paper and stitching, and a lovely technique that can be adapted in so many ways.

Agnieszka ~ La Loggia
Aga has shared two beautiful and very clever projects with us this week.
Her first is a fabulous 3D ladies’ hat that converts into a beautiful standing card.
Even better, it fits perfectly inside the gorgeous coordinating hat box she created to go with it.
Using the same standing-card technique, Aga created a second project featuring the teacup fussy cut from the collection, transforming it into the sweetest afternoon tea invitation.
Such fun and creative ways to use the Swanmere Estate elements!

Caroline ~ Carolee Crafts
Caroline has been busy this week and has shared three Swanmere Estate projects.
Her first is a pretty handmade fabric brooch, created by printing the Swanmere Estate logo directly onto fabric with her inkjet printer.
She surrounded the image with a gathered lace frill and finished the brooch with decorative sparkles.
Next, Caroline created a sweet mini journal in a tin, filled with tiny tags tucked into pockets and pages decorated with fussy cuts from the collection.
For her third project, Caroline made a fabric-covered Swanmere Estate journal, which is stored inside its own handmade presentation box featuring a beautiful swan on the front.

Myry ~ Fils et Papiers
Myry is well known for her beautiful layering, and Swanmere Estate project showcases that talent perfectly.
She created an elegant layered greeting card, using the Swanmere Estate logo as the centrepiece and surrounding it with gorgeous layers of lace, flowers and textured embellishments.
There are so many pretty little details to discover, and I love how beautifully the soft romantic feel of the collection comes through in Myry’s design.

What an incredible start to August!
It’s always fascinating to see how five designers can take the same collection and interpret it in completely different ways. From a grand manor house and vintage doily book to dimensional cards, tiny journals, fabric projects and beautiful layers, our Design Team has already given us so much inspiration for creating with Swanmere Estate.

And this is only the beginning… I can’t wait to see where our visit to Swanmere Estate takes us next.
