Psychic: adj. describes a variety of super-natural events such as telepathy, extra-sensory perception, clairvoyance, spiritualist phenomena, psychokinesis, levitation, prophecy.
Clairvoyant: the psychic ability to ‘see’ in-ormation about living beings, objects or events without using the ordinary sensory means.
I’m sure my post today on psychic ability and clairvoyants will create controversy. It is after all, one of those topics that divide people by their beliefs.
For a long time I fell into the sceptic camp. I don’t suppose I had strong feelings either way – I’d never given it much thought. Then about 7 years ago I experienced something that over time would change my perspective and beliefs.
The event 7 years ago was a psychic reading. At the time I went along to support someone else who was at a crossroads in their life. We had heard amazing stories about the accuracy of this clairvoyant, who didn’t advertise and had bookings 6 months in advance. I thought it was a bit of a lark but the person I accompanied was deadly serious.
When it came time for my reading I was determined to remain stoic and emotionless (typical sceptic). I didn’t want to give anything away. My reader, let’s call her ‘Mrs X’ was jovial and friendly and easy to relax with. The session was for one hour and it was taped so I could listen to it again later on. I supplied one photo that contained my 8 immediate family members and my watch. Mrs X commented on the past, present and future. She described people’s natures and situations with such accuracy I had goosebumps. These were people she didn’t and couldn’t know. I had given her no personal details except my first name. Some of the things she told me were about the future and of little relevance at the time. I left the reading feeling slightly awed and uneasy, but I think the real surprises were to come several years later when events in our life mirrored those described in the reading.
More recently, our life has undergone some major and unexpected changes which we just accept as our life journey. Then a few days ago I remembered the discarded cassette (from that clairvoyant reading) that is stored in my ‘junk’ drawer. I haven’t thought about or listened to it for many years. To do so now, is just plain freaky. Unbelievably FREAKY!! The reading describes my life and those people in it, with uncanny accuracy… not just generalisations either…. but actual events. Too weird.
I always believed the accuracy of psychic predictions was grossly overrated and I still believe that the world is full of fakes preying on innocent people. But, sometimes there are just some things that can’t be explained and this is one of them. I’m not ready to rush off to another reading but for now, I’ll accept this one as being chillingly accurate.
Sceptic or believer – which one are you?

Me? I believe there are a lot of charlatans and fakes and just sometimes you get the real thing.

I think I’m one of those people who would love to believe in such abilities but, like you did, I have doubts. I’m an open minded person and I do believe that anything is possible.

I am a believer 100% but I also agree that there are A LOT of fakes out there raking in money on people’s vulnerabilities.

Hi Kerryanne,
I do believe, but like just about everyone else I also know that some are just after the dollars & peoples vunerability.
I have a friend who went to see a psycic & this woman was on the money. The reading took place in a capital city in another state to where my friend resides so there was no way the woman would have known anything about my friend or those who were spoke about in it.
She go it so eerily right that my friend was pretty spooked about it for ages.

I have to say I am a firm believer, there are more powers in this world than we really know.. it’s good to be open to them… including the law of attraction… xxx

I think I am a believer but sometimes it takes courage to admit it.

Definite believer here, there have been far too many moments in my life which have proved the fact and now I openly embrace the fact.

Kerryanne sweetie, it won’t be any surprise to you that I am a firm believer (I feel a song coming on by The Monkees… “then I saw her face…. now I’m a believer…not a trace… of doubt in my mind….”)
I know for sure that as many hoaxes there are out there, there are also lots of “Mrs X’s”.
I believe that we’re not meant to understand the journey of our life until it is completed, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to learn our lessons. However, sometimes a gentle nudge or affirmation is what it takes to keep us motivated and on the right path. It is also great to be reminded of how magical the universe is! 🙂

Kerryanne you are receiving this comment from someone who has always *believed*. When my 2nd son was 5 months he nearly died, I went in to kiss him & his brother night when I was going to bed & he was laying there *blue* rushed him to hospital.. anyway the day he was released I went to a Spiritulist Church, stayed down the back & just watched. When the speaker had finished she walked up to me & asked to talk to me, she went on to tell me what had happened to Ryan & just why this child had been sent to me, that he was an old soul given to me so he could teach me! Years later I went to an Psychic in Brisbane she told me she could see 4 children around me when at that stage I had 3. Told her how wrong she was but no she assured me I would have four, I had Dylan when I was 41 the result of a very early menopause, am still waiting for the remanider of what this Lady told me to happen but I know it will. On both accounts these Ladies were just so so right with everything they told me & you have just reminded I was given a tape time I dug it out & had a listen!
OMG how long is this comment, did you fall asleep reading it??? hope your mending Sweet & enjoy the long weekend….

Hey Kerryanne! I’m probably the only person in Australia to ‘accidentally’ have her palm read! :0) However, since nothing the lady said was even remotely close, my scepticism got a little deeper, I think. However … I also know there are FAR more things going on in the universe that we know or understand, so I’ll just continue to be curious and keep an open mind! Hope you’re having a nice snooze today with your elephant and bed-buddy! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Ok so I am leaving this comment days after you wrote this but I have been otherwise occupied.
I am a believer well and truly, though I do keep an open mind about the fact that everyone has the gift that they proclaim to have. I had a reading ages ago and not once did she mention my health when I was newly diagnosed with MS which I though was odd at the time but I might have to dig that tape out and see what it says…
by the way…Money is coming to me…..you have to believe it!
