July was quite a month!
Big move… lovely new home…
Fabulous overseas trip…. and wonderful memory making adventures.
I finally took time to…
Relax, sleep, eat, meditate… and then eat some more!
Finally I could breathe again.
I completely unplugged from my everyday life… and I explored exotic new places, walked along beautiful beaches and swam in the crystal clear ocean.
Ahhh…. at last I had time to read books and watch a few movies.
I took afternoon ‘nana naps’ without guilt and ate so, so many delicious meals… and a little squeeze of my mid-section reminds me now of all those calories I consumed [eek].
But it was exactly what I needed!!
We are back home in Australia now and settling in to our new house.
There’s still a little unpacking left to do and my new studio space is calling out to my creative soul, so it’s time to get back to reality.
I’m already working on a creative project to share with you next week.
A book recommendation for you…
Before I headed off on my trip, I was thrilled to be forwarded a pre-release copy of the fabulous book, So Close To Amazing, written by renown blogger KariAnne of Thistlewood Farm.
This is such a personal book… Kari’s writing style is engaging, fun and completely honest… just like her blog.
She made me feel like I was sitting alongside her taking tea on her patio, while she chatted about her life…. the adventure of a new farmhouse in a new town, her hilarious DIY mishaps and of course, her always unfailing optimism and humour that are synonymous with this lovely lady.
While her book was filed with humorous tales and occasional slip ups, there was also a vulnerability with deep heart and soul moments that took me from laughing so hard in one chapter to reaching for the tissues in another.
This book is completely relatable… I often miss the mark too and even though I have this picture in my mind of achieving something ‘Amazing’, sometimes I just can’t quite pull it off…
But thanks to KariAnne, from now on I can be happy with those imperfections and perhaps even embrace being… ‘So Close To Amazing’.
The book also contains beautiful DIY project ideas anyone can do, whether you’re Pinterest perfect or craft challenged… homemade signs, centerpieces, recipe walls, and more!
For me, this was the perfect holiday read and I whole heartedly recommend it.
So Close To Amazing is being released on September 5th, 2017, but if you pop over to KariAnne’s blog now, you can pre-order the book and pick up some pre-order bonuses….
And, you can read the first chapter for FREE!

May your day be as amazing as you are!

Sounds like a very busy month Kerryanne.
I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by – I think I need longer days. Although saying that, I have made the effort to spend some time just sitting in the garden for a few hours here and there – just to sit peacefully and enjoy the sunshine.
Hope the unpacking doesn’t take you too long.
Toni xx
