It’s amazing how a solitude early morning walk on the beach can restore your equilibrium. I feel quite rejuvenated this morning.
There’s no doubt that life is a balancing act and sometimes busy days get you all out of kilter. Unlike most people who dislike Mondays, I actually enjoy the fresh start that Monday brings with it. With everyone off doing their respective things, it means Gypsy the studio buddy and I have the house/studio to ourselves and the peace and tranquility is restored. Monday mornings I like to tidy the studio and prepare for the busy week ahead – that means a ‘To Do’ list .
I’m a big list girl… honestly, I have lists for everything… uumm, yes I know that is quite anal and tragic. (LOL) It’s not that I am forgetful, I just like lists. I guess I am very strategic in the way I work and I take great pleasure in ticking off completed tasks from my list.
Sooooooo… why am I telling you this? Well, this week is a particularly busy week in which I want to achieve allot. I’ve had many projects on the go for sometime but all are now nearing completion and the LIST is bulging with tasks. Now that could either be daunting and overwhelming OR (in a strange twist), very exhilarating as I tick off all the finished projects.
Before I share my new designs, I thought I had better play catch up and show you the finished OPAM projects. This cushion was the teaser from last week. The lovely Linda from I See The Bridge guessed right!
The embroidered cushion is my own design and incorporates the same green I have painted the feature wall in my bedroom.
The design is by Tone Finnanger, a Norwegian artist and designer. I have all of her books and have made many of her lovely designs over the years…. but rarely for myself!!
I think these two pyjama clad girls with nightcaps are gorgeous. One’s in a nightgown and has her pillow and the other has matching PJ’s – I decided not to put angel wings on them this time.
In other news this past week, I have had my friend Marisa up for a visit from Melbourne so have been busy showing her around our little part of the world.
This was about as close as she was getting to our lovely camels on Lighthouse beach. We had a wonderful time exploring the coast, dining out and crafting in the studio. I’m definitely back to the diet this week!!!
I’ll leave you with another little teaser….

yeah, I was right about something! love the cushion and love love love your Tilda dolls, I do believe I have every book she has written and thus inspired Teddy Bear Kris to purchase same.
Looking at the pictures is a treat in itself but creating your vey own dolls are even better.
They look gorgeous!
Not showing eldest daughter the picture with the camels though, she is completely and utterly scared of them, like break into tears at the sight of them…it is sort of funny….well not really!

I so envy you living so close to the beach…even though I’m not what you would class a beach going person BUT I do ‘get’ the restoring your equilibrium part. Unfortunatly the only thing a early morning walk here would do would be set off the neighbours dogs!!!! But the solitude of the beach would be the perfect place to clear the head & enlighten the senses.
I think I need to start making list’s myself…on the behalf of me forgetting things though…bad I know!!!!
I love the colours in your cushion, I have taken a real liking to all shades of green at he moment, especially those lovely turquoise/green shades.
Have a fabulous week!

Hi Kerryanne
Sounds like you’re burning through your list, I think making those adorable dolls would have taken me a full month!
I also love walking along the beach, something I keep forgetting to do and should, specially at this time of the year.
take care ~ Gail

HI Kerryanne,
Love, love, love your cross stitch pillow and the two little Tilda dolls blowing kisses are just to adorable! This is the first time I have seen the Tilda doll.
Would you happen to have a pattern for the cross stitch on your pillow?. I would love to make one. As always I have enjoyed my visit.
Stop over if you have a chance, I am having my very first 100 post give a way.
Big hugs, Elizabeth

Hey Kerryanne! I don’t mind Mondays … they just seem to start out much earlier in the day than I would like them to! :0) And I’m starting to be a list writer – I’ve always made ‘mental notes’ to myself about what is on the “To Do” list, but with the remembery getting a little overloaded, I do find I write actual lists more often these days – LOVE crossing things off!! Your Tilda Angels are GORGEOUS!! And I know what the sneaky peek is attached to – and it’s FABULOUS!! :0) Thank you again – I feel very spoilt! Bear Hugs! KRIS
