I don’t know about you, but I become very reflective as the year draws to a close.
Usually it is a mixture between “wow, where did the year go” and “I’m so ready for a new year and a fresh start”.
Looking back over 2015, I’m actually quite pleased with my level of creativeness…
That’s a good thing… because I struggle with keeping the balance in my life…
And I never feel like there is enough creative time.
The juggle of running a business like ours and keeping my creative biz going too, means often I have to choose between the two and those choices don’t always sit comfortably with me.
Most creative people and artists need to work when the creative urge is driving their passion, but sometimes all I can do is jot down an idea and get to it when I can.
Another good reason for reflecting on your year and looking back at where you started and ended is to see your progress… seeing how your style developed or changed.
I know I sometimes go off on a new tangent…. exploring new techniques or materials, but invariably I always return to what makes my heart sing…
Shabby… cottage… vintage… and whites.
Did you grow or develop your own style in 2015?
Will you set goals for the year ahead?
Hmm, I know I will start that way… but mostly I let my heart guide me on the journey.
Looking back over some of the projects I’ve shared this past year, I feel inspired to get back into the craft room again… after I clean up the Christmas mess ‘creativeness’ of course!!
If you see something you like here, you’ll find the link to the project on my Tutorial page.
Everything is marked down in my GreenGate Boutique this week, so if you have been lusting after one of these gorgeous pieces, now is the time to grab it!
I won’t be reordering these pieces either, as the new Summer collection will be arriving soon.
Happy New Year
