I love these few days before Christmas… don’t you?
Everything is ready… our home feels so comforting dressed in its Christmas finery. The presents are wrapped and food shopping done, so all that is left to do is enjoy these wonderful days surrounded by family and friends.
We have the added bonus of having all our Christmas guests here at the resort…. which feels like an added 80+ extended family members in the backyard.
Along with our noodle boxes filled with Christmas cookies, we have also made these fun chocolate candy cane hearts for the children.
These are super easy and literally a 5 minute project.
Ingredients:
Mini candy canes,
White chocolate,
Christmas coloured sprinkles,
Cake pop sticks and/or kitchen twine.
Start by laying 2 mini candy canes in a heart shape on a silicon paper lined tray. For the candy cane pops, I placed the pop stick between the canes where they join at the base. For the hanging ones I used some white cotton twine. Make sure one half of the twine is at the back of the candy canes.
Melt the white chocolate and spoon into heart shapes. Hold the twine up in front, so it doesn’t get in the chocolate. Add sprinkles and leave to set.
Tip: do not place in freezer to set as the candy canes will crack!!
These also look terrific tied onto a gift, wrapped in clear cellophane and a pretty bow or hanging from the tree.
I hope that whatever you are doing in these last days before Christmas, that you are surrounded by your loved ones and enjoying all the blessings of the season.
Merry Christmas,
Kerryanne
