You may have noticed that it’s been a little quiet here on Shabby Art Boutique for the past few weeks and that’s because I’ve been working on a big project that hasn’t left much time for anything else.
I’ve been waiting to share our secret project with you….
So… we recently sold our business. We packed up our home at short notice and have moved to a whole new city…. in a different state…. with no real plans!
We are not sure where we’ll end up, but for the time being we are living in a new house. It’s a stepping stone house until we have some adventures and find our new place to settle down.
For the first time in our lives we are just ‘winging it’…. each day is a new day and a new adventure.
Of course, a new house means a new studio space!
This one is light and airy and there’s lots of space to have several work stations.
I’m not completely set up yet…. but what I have managed to do is set up the basic storage units and allocate my supplies to each one; sewing, painting, paper craft, scrapbooking etc.
When time permits, I will unpack more and perhaps rearrange a few things.
I think it takes a month or so to really settle in and to see if the layout works.
I’m excited to get back into my studio full time…
And especially look forward to creating lots of new things to share with you all.
During the packing and unpacking of the craft room, I discovered lots of treasure. Some of it had been long forgotten about and other items has been packed away in our storage unit.
The whole process was a little like shopping in my very own craft store… except I already own it all and I didn’t have to pay for it (again).
A few old friends have found new places to hang out, so it still feels comfortable and familiar…. like my old studio space.
It wouldn’t be a move if there wasn’t a few casualties!!
Sadly, it was one of my GreenGate teapots that was damaged this time.
The handle has been glued back on and while it will never be used again as a teapot, I’m sure she’ll make a pretty vase for roses.
I look forward to sharing more photos of our new home with you soon, but for now, my hubby and I are travelling overseas and enjoying a much needed break.
There will still be a few things popping up on Shabby Art Boutique while I’m away.
Hugs
♥

Oh Kerry Anne, how delightful. What a wonderful new experience for you. Enjoy your travels and your ‘new’ studio when you return.
Thank you Debra. Just settling back into my studio now and moving a few things around. My head is nearly bursting with ideas and it is hard to keep to just one project at a time – lol.
hi Kerryanne
you can put your teapot to use by popping in some bakers twine or string and feeding through the spout, would look adorable on your desk.
love your blog
What a fabulous idea Cass… I’ve got some pretty pale blue bakers twine that will look perfect in the teapot too!!
Thanks for visiting and following my journey xx
Oh how exciting!! We might just get our long talked about play dates happening soon – Woo! Hoo! :0) Love your creative space … It starts to feel like home once you start finding places for your pretties. Looking forward to more updates! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS xx
We’ll definitely be catching up soon my ‘Beary Special’ friend. At least we are now in the same state!! xxx
Best wishes and God speed on your new adventures!!!
Thank you sweet Connie!!
I’m 6 weeks into my travels and new adventures and having an absolute hoot. I look forward to sharing some photos next week.
Adventure time, how exciting! Your post was the first thing I opened this morning and just fell in love all over again. I have missed you. I’m normally very quiet on here, but follow religiously. Dearly love your new space, so much room. Agree, it is such fun to shop your own closets first!!! Please share your adventures with us, will be so interesting to follow you around. So very sorry your beautiful Green Gate teapot was injured, but she is still quite lovely and will serve a beautiful purpose. Happy Shabby Travels.
Oh, you are so sweet Daniela.
I’m so happy to be back in my studio and looking forward to blogging with more regularity too. My GreenGate teapot is all fixed now and the crack is hardly visible. Although it might be a bit risky to use as a teapot, I’m sure you’ll see her popping up in photos in my home and studio. Thanks for you wishes, xxx
Be still my heart!
So glad you like my new studio space Lou. I’m currently moving a few things around, so it flows better with access to my supplies, but I’m totally loving it too!!!
wishing you and your hubby the very best and lots of new adventures to come for you both xx
Awww… thanks Shez ♥ xx
Your new studio space is lovely and so organized! A great place to be creative as you enjoy this new chapter. Happy travels and cheers to your adventures!
Nothing like a bit of adventure and travel to get the creative juices flowing Vicky. I’m feeling like there are currently too many ideas in my head and not enough hours to implement them all, but I’ll have fun trying!!
Kerryanne xx
Your new studio is so pretty.. love the colors and the airy curtains! Even though it’s “temporary” we need our stuff around us! Wow a trip overseas.. how neat…. you’ll be all rejuvinated when you get back! take and enjoy your “footloose and fancy free” status for now! Marilyn
Thank you for your good wishes Marilyn. I’m definitely footloose and fancy free right now…. and I feel like such a rebel – lol.
Even though my new studio is only temporary, I have to say that I’ve settled in quickly and loving the new space. Maybe it is my new adventurous spirit or something, but I’m feeling super creative right now.
Looking forward to sharing some new projects in the coming weeks.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
Just recently made a move from an older home on 15 acres to a much newer home on 2.3 acres. The inside was move in ready with crown molding and beautiful hardwood floors throughout, so only had to figure where to place furniture and what pictures to hang where. The outside has taken up most of our time. Hubby built a shop and I have been rescuing flowerbeds, planting and laying brick paver walkways. My husband has terrible allergies so I have taken over all the mowing. I do have a riding mower, but it still takes me over 3 hours to mow the 2 acres. I’m asking Santa for a zero turn mower for Christmas as it will cut the time in half. It’s exciting and a little scary to pick up roots and move away from what is familiar. I am looking forward to see where your new new adventures take you. Best of luck with your new life.
Your new home sounds so lovely Jill. I hope you enjoy many fabulous years there.
I thought I may be a little scared to take a leap of faith on our future, but I needn’t have worried. Our adventure has already been exciting and I’m looking forward to the many new adventures and projects that are coming up in the very near future. Hugs – Kerryanne
How exciting Kerryanne. Congratulations and well done. We do need to stop and “smell the roses”. Enjoy all that is ahead of you that is good. Happy travels and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you Shirley. I’m looking forward to new adventures and lots more creative time.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
