What started out as a ‘Ho Hum’ kind of day has panned out to be a beautiful afternoon. How could it not be with an abundance of warm winter sun dancing through my garden.
To cut a long story short…….. for the past 7 months I have been suffering with a condition known as Osteitis Pubis; this is an ailment most commonly associated with footballers and elite athletes – although mine is not caused by injury.
Okay…. those of you who know me well are probably rolling on the floor in rapturous laughter right now. My name and the word athlete would rarely ever be used in the same sentence. In fact, I think I may be allergic to exercise!!! Well not all exercise – I enjoy walking – hi to my walking buddy Anne.
Hhhhhmmmmmm ……….does anyone see a problem here?
What busy mother of 2 school age children running a full time business can stop walking? Adding to this dilemma is the fact that we live in a multi storey house perched on the side of a hill so steep we almost need to employ Himalayan guides to navigate the path to the clothes line…..yep we have plenty of steps and stairs.
I think you can visualize how difficult and frustrating the past 7 weeks have been. I am so grateful to my parents who have been here 3 & 4 days a week cleaning, cooking and gardening. What would I do without them?
Following a week of tests and MRI’s last week my specialist has decided to refer me on to an orthopaedic surgeon for surgery. I’m tipping this guy is pretty popular because I have to wait over 6 months for an appointment. Soooooo, the bad news for me – I am to remain on ‘Aggressive Rest’ until I see the surgeon….uuuggghhhh!!!
I feel like a little bird that has had it’s wings clipped. Guess I won’t be doing much or going too far over the next 6 months. Always one to look for a positive, I found one while basking in the sun this afternoon, enjoying a cup of green tea with my faithful buddy Gypsy – at least I can still sit in my studio and paint and play; everything in there is at my fingertips.
Anyhoo, ‘Ho Hum’ days might be inevitable for a short while but sunny winter afternoons are bound to make the endorphins kick in and if that doesn’t work there is always chocolate.
Right now though I need to go back to the studio to wrap up my swap parcel for Shann’s Parasol & Paper swap. It will be heading off to Kelli of Vintage Vavoom in the US in tomorrows mail.
Hugs,
Kerryanne

My goodness Kerryanne ,imagine if your didn’t have your art to keep you ocupied. There is only so much sitting around doing nothing that we can take. Sounds fun but would be so, so boring.
Hope all goes well. look forward to seeing what you have sent to kelli, your Swap partner.

Hi Kerryanne,
What a bummer have to take it easy like that, thank goodness that you are still able to paint and work in your studio. At least the weather down there is looking lovely.
Hope you have a wonderful week.
Cheers Linda

Hi Kerryanne, oh i can imagine exactly how you feel!!! I bet you any money though that like me you will try and do as much as you can on a day you feel OK and then pay for it the next day because you shouldn’t have done anything and you can’t complain about it because you just know people are going to say, ‘you should have rested, or leave it I will hang the washing out when I get there’ etc etc I am guessing I have just described you well…and that sitting is probably not really allowed for you for extended periods either…I will also bet though that you do some amazing work during your enforced rest, can’t wait to see it! Take care of you, kiss noises Linda Lilly Cottage.

Oh Linda…..how scary. You just described my day perfectly. I should have guessed you would know exactly what it feels like. I hate relying on other people and DO do the things I am not suppose to do and then pay for it later.
Motivated and creative people can not just lay around doing nothing….. gggrrrrr how frustrating!!!
Hugs to you,
Kerryanne

Hey Kerryanne! Boy oh boy! I bet we are going to see some GORGEOUS folk art projects come out of your studio because you “HAVE” to go play there! (what a fantastic excuse! Housework needs doing … must rest in the studio!! Tee! Hee! Hee!) No gadding about for you – in person anyways! You’ll just have to visit us all in blogland, which you can do sitting down! And I am VERY envious of your wonderful rustic birdhouse – I’ve been trying to find one like that for my garden, but the price tags make me gulp!! Sigh! Time to enroll in a woodwork course. Hmmm, me with sharp objects … maybe not! I’ll just admire all of your wonderful garden photos! Thanks for sharing and hope the “aggressive rest” doesn’t crimp your style too much! Bear Hugs! (copious giggling in background!!) KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

Isn’t it funny how we often take our health for granted, then something happens and our world is turned upside down, I hope you are on the mend very soon Kerryanne!
