Have you ever noticed how colour can impact your mood?
Colour psychology is very interesting and understanding how it affects your mood can certainly be beneficial when choosing clothes or designing your home décor.
Red and blue are my feel good colours… they make me happy.
For me, I think it is the combination of uplifting red, combined with the calming affect of blue.
Do you have a colour that makes you feel happy?
Is that colour also your favourite colour?
I think as an artist I love many colours…. but I definitely experience mood changes around certain colours.
A perfect example is the soft aqua of my craft room. I would never have chosen to paint the room that colour, but when we moved in and spent some time in there, I quickly noticed that it had an incredibly calming affect. We kept it!!
I rediscovered these photos today while looking for something else and I instantly felt happy.
I remember when these items were in my home and how much I loved them.
I also recall how visitors to my studio always commented on the red and blue filled shelf…. perhaps this colour combination makes other people feel happy too!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on how colours affect your mood.
Feeling happy,
Kerryanne

I love Autumn shades as the golds/browns/reds make me feel cosy & warm (they also remind me of coffee & chocolate LOL).
I noticed last year that Lime & Aqua shades had been creeping into my home and I loved the freshness they brought with them.
I currently have a flower arrangement on my desk at work that is teal & yellow – it is a splash of colour in what is otherwise quite a dreary workplace, colourwise that is.
Red/White/Blue is a scheme that I often reach for when making cards. The colours just seem to ‘go’ and there are so many shades that you can combine

Hi Kerryanne, I now know after much wall and furniture painting, that I am happiest in the company of very neutral tones like whites, creams and browns. I find them so cozy and comforting. 🙂 Julie
hey Kerryanne! I’m with you … Colour plays a huge part in my mood. The main bedroom in our old house was painted a deep teal with white trim & every time I crawled into bed I felt cosy & calm. Teal is my fave colour – it always makes me think of the ocean, which I also find calming. Fresh apple green was the wall colour in the living area which was fresh & calming. My sewing room was cornflower blue & made my creative space warm, cosy & inspiring. I think I’ll be adding more colour to our new neutrally painted house in the not-too-distant future.
Hi! Kerryanne ~
Interesting post.
I am most happy when things are pretty and bright.
I love a shabby chic pallet (pinks, yellows, lavender and robins egg blue). and lots of natural light.
Give me pink and sunshine!!
Have a lovely week.
